My value judgement is not derived from the alcohol thing. The alcohol thing was an example of what I was suggesting, not a justification for what I was suggesting.
If you are unsatisfied with the first example I can give you another. Instead of gating media with mature themes (swearing, blood, etc...) by saying that the child just isn't old enough for them, we can gate media with mature themes by saying that none of the potential consequences they face in everyday life are serious enough to provide them with any context.
If someone's biggest problem in life is "he said something mean to me!" or "she has something I want!" then maybe it does more harm than good to let that person watch a morally ambiguous show about someone who tries to solve problems with violence.
