2/. Port Douglas: I simply don't get the attraction of a distant location with literally mile upon mile of (ugly) resorts and holiday accomm, but a beautiful long beach you can't swim at. Why travel great distances just for expensive accommodation and expensive shopping/ eating/ drinking... and no beach swimming? Anyone??
