A Coldcard firmware bug quietly broke randomness in seed generation from 2021 to July 2026, resulting in over $117M (and counting) being swept from affected wallets.

Our heartfelt thoughts are with everyone impacted by this incident. 💔

This wasn't Bitcoin being hacked. The problem was randomness that was never truly random.

What to actually do:
→ Move funds to a wallet you already trust, or a new wallet with a new seed
→ Never reuse the old seed, even after updating firmware
→ If multisig, check every key was independently generated

This incident is the reminder that controlling your keys means nothing if the randomness behind them was never truly random.

Bringin's self-custody wallet runs on entirely separate infrastructure from Coldcard's firmware - this bug never touched it.

If you need a safe place to move funds right now, our self-custody wallet on Spark gives you a fresh, seed-owned wallet in seconds. Your keys, not ours.

Or if you prefer larger amounts, you could move to our custody balance - we could help you with limits. We have already helped a few clients do it.  DM us.

PS: We do not charge a fee for deposits and withdrawals.

However, treat this as your fast, liquid first move - not your final vault for large amounts.

For long-term holdings, pair it with a properly set up hardware wallet (different vendor).
