Starting July 1st, new EU Transfer of Funds Regulations (TFR) take effect.

BTC to BTC transaction in the wallet are private. Once you convert, banks are involved. We report aggregates yearly (bitcoin bought, bitcoin sold) (see here: https://help.bringin.xyz/en/articles/15392537-what-data-is-bringin-required-to-report-under-dac8)
So your final receiving bank doesn't know that Bitcoin is involved. But we do, and we need to report that when we report the aggregate.
If it is or it is not a taxable event depends on the country, but generally speaking yes.

KYC happens at the account level (as required), but your Bitcoin wallet is completely separate - it can be created without KYC, and your keys are stored securely on your phone.

When you receive BTC on-chain and move it, the funds are sent from a *different* address due to the swap; so your transactions aren't directly linked to your main wallet address.

If you don’t understand these 3 points about the Lightning Network, you probably don’t understand Bitcoin at all 🧵⚡
1. Using Lightning non-custodially means you control your private keys.
👉 "Not your keys, not your coins."
But here’s the nuance: in Lightning, holding your keys also means holding an on-chain UTXO, the purest form of Bitcoin.
Owning your own channel = owning your own UTXO.
That means your funds cannot be censored or seized.

Based on the request and the process.
Every user must go through a KYC process as required by regulators. Since we provide IBAN accounts to every user, we cannot eliminate KYC.
