Sounds like an attention thing TBH. If you can get in the zone and handle 1.5X sometimes, sorting out when/how you listen will make that consistent
Also look into storyteller app if you’re doing local hosting. You can sync audio with eBooks, I found that sped up my comprehension of digital books.
