How one comes up with their unit of account can be personal.

As I said when I first started this npub, I prefer pre 1965 silver coins as a unit of account.

However since the latest fiat denominated run up even this has proven to be much harder. I used to be able to price small things like sandwiches in dimes but there’s not really anything reliably smaller than silver dimes in that currency.

Sats are a little too volitile to price in. One would need an external reference to guage purchasing power for accounting purposes since most people don’t use them.

People like that actually use it as a MoE all the time prices in $ but settles in ₿ . I recently began personally quoting ₿ in ounces of Au. I think personally uses it as a straight unit of account but some of his investors wait until they deploy the $ capital to change it into btc then price gains in btc once it’s already in the system. It’s just a weird time to be honest.
