God spared the son.
Empire does not.

On the mountain, Abraham raised the knife—and God stopped his hand.

The child was not the sacrifice.

The illusion that the child belonged absolutely to the father was the sacrifice. The son was returned. The future was preserved.

Empire performs the opposite ritual.

It takes the children of others, places them beneath the machinery of power, and declares their deaths necessary: for security, territory, ideology, markets, vengeance or historical destiny.

God says:

Do not lay your hand upon the child.

Empire says:

Accept the collateral damage.

That is the basis of judgment upon every genocidal order. Not merely that it kills, but that it constructs an altar upon which an entire people—and especially their children—may be treated as expendable.

God demanded that Abraham release possession.

Empire demands actual blood.

The spared son therefore stands as a witness against every system that refuses to spare the child.

The knife God stopped is the knife empire keeps lowering.
