I think Nolan overcomplicates his stories in ways that any filmmaker would struggle to really visually convey & then—predictably—he struggles with it.
He creates challenges for himself that he isn't quite up to.
That could be considered admirable ambition, but it also could be simply biting off more than he can chew.
