I hear you, and sometimes I get up to that speed, but for example, listening to an audiobook now, and I toggle between 1 and 1.2x, as the reader is decently swift, and I find my mind wanders sometimes if I speed it up.
Podcasts 1.25 always, as people talk kinda slowly, and at times 1.5x. A physics lecture series I'm watching is good at 1.5x, as it's somewhat review plus lecture-speak is deliberate.
All that to say, you're right for some types of content. Probably should up the speed on podcasts for sure
