I can feel you. Though it may not be the same as deciding for kid's party but cultural differences is of the things couples need to remind each other with all the time. I believe it is an understated situation in a relationship. ☺️
Regarding the jelly, if I were you, I'd make it so you can share that childhood taste and experience with your kid and other kids. As you mentioned, you can always have it for yourself LOL. I think it is a win-win 😂👌
