My 9-tray Excalibur paid for itself after a few months.
Totally recommend it if you can get it on sale. I bought mine almost 3 years ago, after I saw it marked way down thanks to The Survival Podcast item of the day announcement.
PS - When I dry my jerky, it never touches the plastic. I know some people are sensitive about that kind of thing. I always line the trays with parchment. I thought of switching the trays out for the metal ones, but they'd get too hot and I'd probably forget and burn my fingers.
