There used to be a backup, a cast iron wood burning stove kept part of the place warm, but between how heavy that thing is and the lack of safe venting, it’s no longer an option.
Currently thinking of making a hobo stove as a catastrophic backup heat source but burning things inside is a dangerous idea.
