I think of it more in the framework of many ai companies building it on the track to try to win a race for superintelligence (with all the dangers that entails) and getting themselves in the political arena trying to cater the #ai to geopolitical needs and harvesting data in mass surveillance batches when claiming it’s justified to cure cancer.
But actually, if the purpose was to cure cancer, specifically specialized ai that only perfected what is needed for cancer diagnostics, etc… would bethe one financed.
Technology is built by people who make it non-neutral in what they choose to put at the center of it.
And if superintelligence is developped, and let’s for the sake of argument take humans out of the loop, and the ai makes decisions: will that technology be neutral? Or will it have been determined by the incentives that trained it to that point?
