Ooooh, I don’t remember this at all from the original anime run, but this definitely is a *much* better portrayal of Winry’s parents’ murder than Scar doing it amidst a panic attack.
But all that said, I feel FMAB is a considerably more coherent story with stronger plot beats (except fully agree on the bothsidesing aspect. But it also doesn’t condemn Scar for killing state alchemists and portrays most of his murders as just, anyway).
I still remember being angry and confused at the bizarre ending with Dante/the parallel universe/the movie tie-in/the random homunculi weaknesses 🫠
