I don't work there, but I took a look at the source code and it appears that the dialog originates from here: https://github.com/PrimalHQ/primal-web-app/blob/870666becfa9e0e3adf0d7322e2ad788c799f3f1/src/contexts/AccountContext.tsx#L1049-L1055
Judging from the if-clause a few lines earlier, it does indeed check whether your updated follower list only has one account on it, and will display this dialog if it does. As to why that might happen, my best guess would be that the relay somehow returned an empty follow list.
Not sure what the best way to fix it is, since apparently this DOES sometimes happen. Perhaps a less confusing message and different options would be helpful. I'm thinking something along the lines of "Something went wrong fetching your follower list" with the options of "Try again" and "Cancel".

Well, first of all, I think the reason so many people are focused on Christianity is because it's the one religion that managed to come the closest to a true world religion. Truly understanding how or why it works, and why it continues to exert influence even after 2,000 years, offers a payout that's hard to beat: potentially being able to influence the minds of nearly 1/3rd of the world's population.
Second, there is the question of what religion IS in the first place. Is it just a system of rules to live your life by, or is there more to it? Because even though all major religions seem to agree on the basic rules (don't murder, don't steal, etc.), it's clear that such rules aren't enough to live successfully, and they can occasionally become too restrictive, to the point of presenting a burden. However, breaking any of them is not something one should take lightly, because the punishment can be severe.
Perhaps the real power of religion lies in harnessing the global unconscious. A lot of people have managed to gain a lot of power, wealth, and influence by being able to correctly identify trends and riding them long enough to make a name for themselves. But like waves in the ocean, no trend lasts forever, and it is not just about how well you ride the wave when you catch it, but also how well you handle its inevitable reversal.
The question is, who makes the waves? Is there someone in charge of it, or do they just happen all by themselves? Perhaps even the best and brightest do not know the answer, and neither do any of the so-called authorities. But that does not mean they can just be ignored at will, just like the basic rules cannot easily be broken. No authority can remain forever if it only exists by decree, because one day the waves are going to wash it away.
Ultimately, it all seems to come down to the ability to be in the right place at the right time — being able to read the waves well enough to predict their movement patterns, and making the right effort at the right time in order to ride them, and then getting out before they can crush you. No authority can teach you that, because it all comes down to practice.

Very cool! Can confirm xAI is now working, as are the sourcemaps. This makes it SO MUCH easier to use the Web Inspector for debugging.
Also, it seems to have fixed a minor issue I had when loading Shakespeare inside Shakespeare, and the preview was missing some fonts. Nice job! 🥳

Sure! I tried importing Shakespeare into Shakespeare to see if I could have it add syntax highlighting to the code editor. The AI made a couple of commits (most were attempts to fix errors that started popping up right after the initial change), the most recent one of which can be seen in the screenshot. But when I open the terminal and type `git log`, I only see commits from the upstream repository:

Curiously, when I run `git show`, it DOES show the most recent commit made by the agent (no diff though), but when I try to inspect the previous commits using `git show HEAD~1`, `git show HEAD~2`, etc., it just says "Failed to show commit: Could not find HEAD~1."

No problem. I do have some more questions though, if you don't mind.
- If I enter an API token in the settings, where is that stored? In the browser's LocalStorage? (Same for GitHub/GitLab access token)
- What exactly is the Nostr account in the settings used for?
Also, I did notice a few other issues:
- xAI integration isn't working (at least for me). - When using git in the Shakespeare terminal, it does not show of the any local commits that the AI made. Since there appears to be no other way to inspect commit diffs to see what exactly was changed (clicking on the commits in the chat log or the rollback history only shows the commit message, nothing else), this seems pretty essential.
Hopefully this list is useful and does not come across as overly critical (and hopefully it's also not just another case of me being an idiot). I do love the overall concept of Shakespeare and I want it to be great.

Hi MK, thanks for taking the time to respond. I gave it another try and it turns out the problem has nothing to do with the AI model at all — it was simply me misunderstanding the way the app works (i.e. a classic case of PEBKAC).
I was expecting the project files to appear in the left sidebar, but apparently that's just for listing projects. The button I was looking for was up there in the right corner, and it works fine.
Sorry for the confusion. I hope I didn't cause any major grief on your end.

So I thought about this again and it occurred to me that calling someone a piece of shit, especially in public, on their home turf so to speak, probably didn't exactly help your case.
Social networks, whether IRL or on the Internet, tend to form around certain world views, because people tend to enjoy being around others who share the same viewpoints more than they do being around those who don't.
But all world views are flawed in some way, and pretty much all of them presuppose that whenever there's something wrong with the world, it's always someone else's fault. For Christians, it's the devil's fault, for Atheists, it's the Christians' fault; for Republicans, it's the Liberals' fault, and for Liberals, it is of course the Republicans' fault.
Now I'm pretty sure that Lemmy users aren't so stupid that it hasn't begun dawning on them that killing Charlie Kirk MAY have been a huge mistake, because he left behind a legacy that none of their vitriol can ever erase, and that's not exactly going to help them win many friends in the upcoming years. But those among them who have realized this are likely keeping their mouths shut because they don't want to get in the way of the people who are nevertheless still trying to desecrate his corpse.
Basically, what you did is like going to someone's house and calling them an idiot in front of their entire family — of course they're most likely going to throw you out in order to save face, even if they secretly feel like you might have a point, simply because they want the freedom to come to the realization on their own time.
Right now, their anger is still larger than their doubts, and they're going to keep hacking away at him some more, just like they did with Kyle Rittenhouse, hoping that some cracks will appear in the clean facade. And when they don't, they'll likely just give up in a couple of months and simply never speak of him again.
They probably won't ever admit fault or seek reconciliation, and the best thing you can likely hope for is that a few them have woken up to the fact that they're friends with people who believe it's okay to murder someone in cold blood over a difference in opinion, and that's a dangerous place to be. And unless they somehow manage to convince the rest of Lemmy that this was a bridge too far, and didn't help their cause AT ALL, their best course of action is likely to just quietly leave the community altogether, the same way Lot left Sodom and Gomorrah.
But if you do want remain anyways, and try to preach the good word in the hopes that the community can be saved, I would suggest not calling them demons to their faces, because that's not going to work if the demons outnumber you. Instead, try to cast doubt on the viability of their belief system. Help them realize that if they advocate for murdering people for their opinions, they are also advocating for themselves being murdered for their opinions.

Nostr is basically just a giant electronic bulletin board. Each relay hosts their own version of it, and each day people come and posts their notes all over it. The crypto signatures are like handwritten ones, once you've learned to recognize someone's writing (added their npub to your follow list), you can reliably identify all of their other posts.
The only reason it doesn't get overwhelming is because computers can sort and search through the sheer avalanche of notes posted every single day in milliseconds to find you the ones you're actually interested in.

As a regular NYM user, basically the cool thing about it is that it works on the desktop (as opposed to the native apps which are smartphone only), so you can use Bitchat from anywhere. Also it has a number of features the official clients don’t, like being able to join several rooms at once, inline image display (and upload), and using a persistent identity if you wish.

Okay, let's think this through: if there WAS a counter-sniper and he'd taken the attacker out before he made the shot, perhaps he would have prevented a much greater evil, but it still would have been murder, because until the moment the killer actually pulled the trigger, he hadn't murdered anyone yet, and after he did, it was too late to stop him. Had he been shot before, he would have died an innocent man, and you could forever cast doubt on whether he would have actually gone through with it, or hesitated at the last second.
What we have hear is by no means and example of justified violence, because it isn't self-defense to kill someone for merely threatening you, just like it wasn't self-defense for him to shoot Kirk for threatening his ideology. It's just different shades of evil. And even if it WAS self-defense, it still doesn't make it good, but merely less regrettable.
For example, the people Kyle Rittenhouse shot in Kenosha may have been thugs who were indeed determined to kill him (and at least one of them was a known pedophile with a prior conviction for sexually abusing boys as young as 9 years old), but we'll never know if perhaps they'd finally managed to turn their lives around if they'd gotten away with their lives (and perhaps a big scare or a near death experience due to surviving a non-lethal shot). George Floyd was no choir boy either, and people still rightly condemned his death as excessive punishment for his crime.
In other words, it seems to me that there can really never be a situation in which violence somehow isn't evil. At best, it can be the smaller of two evils, and therefore it can certainly be forgivable, but it can never be good.
That leaves the question of whether speech can sometimes be evil, to which I'll cite Matthew 5:21-26:
“You have heard that it was said to those of old, You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’ But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire. Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, the judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison. Assuredly, I say to you, you will by no means get out of there till you have paid the last penny.
According to Jesus, murder begins in the heart, and it does indeed first manifest in your words before it escalates into action. Whether Charlie was guilty of this with some his rhetoric I do not know, but clearly his enemies seem to think so (though of course, that doesn't justify their actions). Therefore, it seems most likely to me that both parties were in the wrong here. Which leads me to the conclusion that you were also wrong with your original post, as was the person you were responding to, and the truth is that violence is never not evil, but speech may or may not be.
What do you think of that?

Yes, I'm 100% certain that he was killed for his words, because as far as I know, he was not known to be a violent man. His enemies, however, certainly DID interpret his words as violence, enough so that they felt that killing him was an acceptable solution.
Which brings me to your original post, in which you said that violence is not always evil, and speech sometimes is. Clearly you did not mean to justify Kirk's murder with what you said, but not only is it possible to do so, that IS in fact precisely what his enemies are doing.
Now I'm wondering, between actions and words, which do you think has the greater power to keep humans living in fear and disconnected from the divine? To Charlie's enemies, his words WERE speech intended to keep them living in fear, while to his allies, killing him was an action designed to keep THEM living in fear.
This leads me to the conclusion that either one of them is right and the other is wrong (i.e. one side did greater evil than the other), or BOTH are wrong because both did something the other perceived as evil. Clearly they cannot both be right, because both made the other live in fear.
So, what is the solution to this dilemma? Who was more justified in their approach to what they saw as evil?

No idea where he’s from but what it means is that he’s found a loophole in the current design which he is exploiting aggressively.
Thankfully, at least he’s just using it to be annoying. There’s probably far more nefarious uses for his approach, but his persistence will hopefully ensure that this gets fixed before people figure those out.

Remember prohibition, when they tried to ban alcohol? Did that stop people from drinking? So yeah, there are definitely things the US government can't do.
But since you're apparently eager to explore other options, have you considered treating gender dysphoria as a mental health issue and figuring out how to help people accept their birth sex instead of promoting transgenderism as the cure? I'm honestly wondering if this was a good idea, at least at this time. I'm sure you had good reasons to do it, and I certainly don't understand nearly half as much about the technical aspects as you do, but being able to find active rooms on a map view was really neat. As was having a choice of a variety of different clients that could all talk to each other.
Spam was a problem, yes, but Nym showed that it was fairly easy to get rid of by simply using a relay that has rate limiting (such as Damus's). I understand that it would of course cause even more centralization if everyone was going to use that, but unless traffic was already causing severe resource strains, wouldn't it have been better to wait until there is a more significant userbase?
A lot of people I talked to had trouble even understanding how it worked at this stage, how are they going to understand that there may essentially be several different versions of the same room on different relays, and depending on which client you use, you might see entirely different conversations?
If it is not possible or desirable to expect other relays to rate limit, couldn't that be also done on the client side instead? For instance, any single account sending more than one message per second is likely spamming, as is anyone sending the same message from different accounts (such as the semicolon troll).
Other alternative clients have tried different approaches — For instance, Nym has a customizable keyword filter, and bitmap.lat has a rudimentary pattern-based filter that worked pretty well that could potentially be ported to the app (you can see what it tests for in `src/lib/spam.test.ts` on their NostrHub).
Basically I'm left wondering whether this move at this time killed all the momentum Bitchat had until now. My experience today was that most rooms on the app are essentially dead, and the ones that are working are those still using the global relays.

Unless they connect to all 300 georelays, I guess. Which seems possible for a dedicated spammer, but if hundreds of people are doing it from their browsers, it would likely be an issue.
