You misunderstand. The government is not ignoring this. They are encouraging this.
All those new laws for age verification, for example, are to prevent you from using an operating system or ROM that cannot be minored or controlled. Blocking reCAPTCHA on a non-approved, non-certified government and corporate sanctioned devices is just 1 piece of the big picture.

Unfortunately, I suspect this is not a Misskey bug because it works on another Misskey site. If this happened on all Misskey sites, then I would believe it was a Misskey issue. However, this is not happening on all Misskey sites; it only seems to be happening here.
If you still feel this is a bug, could you please report it? I do not have a GitHub account and have no plans to create an account with Microsoft. You also have the error logs, and if this were a bug, you would be in a much better position to generate a useful report than I would.

I had noticed this problem some time ago, but as the previous version had a few glitches, I assumed it was a bug on Misskey’s end. However, as the site has now been updated, I realise the problem does not lie with Misskey itself.
If you look at the three screenshots, you will see a screenshot from this site, a Mastodon site, and another Misskey site are displayed. The last reply is not shown only when viewed on this site. I have also created accounts elsewhere, but I have noticed that this problem occurs only here. Occasionally, posts stop appearing on this site.
This is actually a perfect example, because the post is not a random post, but rather a post addressed toward me.

Speaking as someone who works for Meta, there are two reasons for that. The first is obvious: towns go where most of the people are, and Facebook is still the largest social media platform with billions of users worldwide. The second is perhaps not so obvious but is certainly suspected: we donate to local campaigns. Meta funds not just federal or state elections, but also township-level ones as well. The whole point is to preserve Meta’s (Mark Zuckerberg’s) interests.

The airlines these days have so many terms and conditions and excuses to screw people over, that even if you believed you did everything right, you could still be out of luck. I have known many people experienced being screwed over by the airlines.
I travel buy car, bus, train, and boat, but the only time I've ever flown is because someone gifted me a ticket. It's economic scene and responsibly. Only a fool would be OK with being told you need to buy another ticket.

Honestly, that would be my biggest fear. You buy a budget plane ticket and suddenly can no longer take the flight. Growing up poor, I worried about that sort of thing, which is why I never flew anywhere. I’m no longer in as tight a financial situation as I was back then, but that mindset is why I still don’t fly anywhere.

No technical or software-based restriction may be used to prevent repair or modification of owned Devices.
Section 9 — Interoperability and Anti-Lock-in Clause.
Devices and Digital Products may not restrict functionality based on:
* Ownership status beyond initial lawful acquisition.
* Use of third-party repair or modification.
Systems that rely on external services must:
* Clearly disclose dependency at point of sale.
* Maintain basic offline functionality where technically feasible.
Section 10 — Enforcement.
Violations of this Act may result in:

Digital Ownership, Open Standards, and Repair Rights Act (Draft)
Section 1 — Purpose.
This Act establishes that digital and physical technologies which are widely deployed or commercially distributed shall remain accessible, interoperable, repairable, and permanently usable by their lawful owners. It prohibits perpetual control mechanisms that restrict ownership, access, or basic functionality after acquisition.
Section 2 — Definitions.
“Digital Product” means any software, firmware, media file, application, or electronically distributed work.
“Device” means any consumer or industrial hardware product capable of computation, control, or digital interaction.
“Ownership Transfer” means a sale or transaction that conveys permanent use rights independent of ongoing payment obligations.
“Common Standard” means a technical interface, protocol, or specification used in at least 70% of new products within its category in at least three major manufacturers.
“Abandonment” means lack of substantive maintenance activity as defined in Section 6.
“Substantive Maintenance” means security updates, compatibility updates, or functional maintenance required for continued operation on modern systems.
Section 3 — Digital Ownership Rights.
Any Digital Product marketed as a “purchase,” “sale,” or equivalent term shall constitute permanent ownership transfer.
Ownership includes: Perpetual access without subscription or recurring payment. Local execution capability without dependency on external authorization. The right to retain, transfer, or reinstall the product indefinitely
No Digital Product acquired under ownership transfer may be revoked, disabled, or rendered unusable by the provider except under lawful fraud or security breach adjudication.
Subscription services may exist only when explicitly labeled as access services, and shall not be marketed as ownership.
Section 4 — Prohibition on Subscription-Gated Device Functionality.
No Device shall require ongoing payment to access its core functionality once purchased.
Core functionality includes all features necessary for: Operation of the device as intended at time of sale. Local processing and usability independent of external services.
Software such as operating systems must not impose subscription fees for continued basic use of installed systems.
Section 5 — Open Source Requirement for Foundational Systems.
All operating system kernels, firmware, drivers, and media codec implementations distributed with consumer or commercial devices shall be made available under an open-source license permitting:
* Inspection
* Modification
* Redistribution
This requirement applies at the time of commercial distribution.
Proprietary extensions may exist only if:
* A fully functional open-source baseline implementation is provided.
* The proprietary extension is not required for core functionality.

管理者は2023年または2024年以降（約2〜3年前）投稿を行っておらず、サイトの更新も停止していました。Mastodonのサポートが終了したブランチ（4.1.x）を使用しており、既知のセキュリティ問題も抱えていました。この状況は深刻な懸念を招き、多くのFediverseインスタンスが接続を解除し、フェデレーションを切る対応を取りました。
1年以上の放置の後、最近になって誰かがサイトを4.2.xにアップグレードしましたが、これも既にサポートが終了したブランチで、既知のセキュリティ脆弱性を含んでいました。突然の非告知アップデートではあったものの、依然としてサイトを監視・管理するスタッフはおらず、スパム、詐欺、嫌がらせ、ボットなどの問題は続いていました。その後まもなく、サイトは安定して稼働できない状態になり始めました。

You'e absolutely, right. It is why I prefer a Misskey site as my home site. I think people use Mastodon because it has that more twitter-like layout, but it is severely lacking in features and compatibility within the Fediverse. I worry about that compatibility because if most sites were to completely rely on a single development, that could spell trouble within the decentralized network.

Misskey has something Mastodon does not - A remove follower option.
This is a lot easier than blocking someone and hoping they don't notice. From an admin prospective it is also better than having users with a block list a mile long.
A reminder, Gaza Verified is a scam. It always was a scam. And their bots follow hundreds and thousands of people, because they try to use your follow list and your engagements as marketing.

My biggest issue in seeking new employment will be being a 45-year-old with virtually no verifiable work experience, because all my previous employers no longer exist. That, I imagine, will be my biggest concern. My lack of personal references because of this, plus everyone I once knew being dead (COVID), only compounds that problem.
I work for Meta, but not Meta USA, even though I am in the USA. They transferred me around the time they switched me from hourly to salary, when the work-from-home program ended up being more than a pilot program. My boss is on the other side of the planet and hasn’t communicated directly with me for months. Honestly, during the last round of layoffs, I was certain I was going to be included, but the person who said we needed to talk about my performance ended up being laid off themselves, and so no one ever rescheduled that meeting. That said, the fact that my supervisor is on the other side of the planet means possible future employers are going to need to reach out during their time zone, compared to ours.
Meta (Facebook) may look nice on my resume, but I am uncertain whether it will be a pro or a con. That said, perhaps I am overthinking things, and six years here should be enough to stand out. This is all to say, I am just as curious (and concerned) as you are.
For now, I’m still employed and working here. All this worry could be for nothing, but my time off was very much needed. Putting my employment status aside, the job itself can sometimes be soul-crushing. I see things that shouldn’t exist (things I don't usually talk about), yet they do, and they can get to you after a while.

I needed to get away from work (Meta) and take some time off, so I lied and told them my “great aunt” passed away.
The past few days at work have been insane — more than usual.
I’m just fed up with the way things are run under our current policies, so I needed to escape and take some time away.
There are rumors of layoffs soon, and I already have three write-ups within the past year for doing what I felt was morally and ethically right, even though it went against policy because of “freedom of speech.” If I am going to be laid off (I don’t know that, but it’s possible), I’d rather it happen while I’m still being paid and able to relax, instead of slaving away for this corporation and doing its dirty work.
I also hope that if layoffs do happen, someone currently on “bereavement” might be in a safer position.
I’m not trying to lose my job, but I am also having a harder time stomaching this job while innocent people are being hurt by our policies, and we reward bad people for behaving poorly.
A grown man, for example, should not have the “right” to imply some young woman experiencing a clear mental crisis should end her life for wanting equality and justice, while implying her purpose is only to “breed,” and our policy shouldn’t claim this is “freedom of speech” because no lines were technically crossed. Or a MAGA supporter shouldn’t be implying people “find people” who are anti-fascist and imply “something” should be done to resolve their place in the world, and it too is allowed because technically, somehow, this is also “freedom of speech.” Nor should I be required to forward someone to our legal department for review simply because a woman let it slip she may have had an abortion, and the state she lived in has decided they’re retroactively punishing people for their past choices made with their own bodies.
I dislike my job, but I also find my work history isn’t worth much because all the places I previously worked no longer exist. And everyone I personally once knew died years ago during COVID. I have been here at Meta for nearly six years now, and I hope that is enough verified experience that I can use to find another form of employment, if needed. But damn Meta for changing things in favor of Trump and his goons. Fuck, Mark Zuckerberg, you damn dirty bastard.

One would think logical thinking and deductive reasoning would mean people wouldn’t follow blindly like sheep — especially if they’ve witnessed others experience undesirable outcomes, proving those collective choices were in error. But no, they do it anyway, with a smile.
While I’ve heard of the hive-mind mentality, however, they do this even when they’re alone, and all evidence should tell them to choose another option or path — including their own experience. I think that last part is what really drives me nuts: the fact that we might argue the first time was a mistake on their part, but to know they’ve experienced something, understand the results, and then do it again anyway is maddening.
As I said, I doubt I’ll ever understand it.
Because, metaphorically speaking, watching people jump into the fire, get burned, complain about it, and then jump back in—only to act just as surprised or upset while demanding their right to do so without being burned, when that’s the obvious natural outcome… well, it’s something. 🤦

Before buying my four smartphones, I mostly used Nokia brick phones. But my flip phones where mostly Samsung and LG at the time. With the exception of the "Pebble" (I think it was a Motorola Pebl U6 or similar). I recall having a Sony slider phone, but that was short lived. My last slip phone was made by, Samsung.
I think out of all the flipped phone I had, that hockey-puck or pebble looking phone was one of my favorites. Small, compact, rounded, and could take a beating. lol

Motorola was my first smartphone (Moto X4). Before that, I had always been using a flip phone, and before that, those old brick phones. I avoided so-called smartphones for years and was the last person I knew who had not yet gotten one.
I bought my X4 closer to the end-of-life phase because it was my first smartphone, and I hadn’t yet learned everything I know now. But I learned that Motorola is not great for long-term usage.
Motorola has the habit of releasing so many makes and models in a single year that, even with the 3,000-character limit here on Misskey, I don’t think I could list every model and variation they released in the last year or two. For example, there were four to six different versions of the Motorola G7. But even though I bought my phone early, they dropped support for it pretty early on in practice. I say “in practice” because their documentation claimed longer support, when in reality it was cut off sooner.
I decided to go with a brand I trusted, which was Nokia. That was a big mistake, because buying the Nokia 5.3 meant finding out Nokia had recently discontinued the option to unlock the phone, and they pushed out an update that bricked many devices.
My Google Pixel 7 is only my third smartphone. It is fully unlocked and is running GrapheneOS. Clearly, as you can tell, I don’t phone-hop. I buy a device and expect it to last.
If Android continues down this path, and somehow GrapheneOS doesn’t continue, I will either buy my first Linux phone or consider going back to flip phones while they still make them, which, surprisingly, they do. If that were not an option, my next phone will be something imported from Europe or China, outside the direct control of the United States.
Of course, the absolute worse case is I stop relying on cellular phones.

What I understand is the stupidity of humanity.
People will complain about something, acknowledge there is a better way and better options, admit making that terrible choice ultimately does not benefit them, but still jump off the cliff with a smile on their face, and choose to do it all over again if they can.

Fun fact:
I own Apple Stock, not because I like or had confidence in the business model, but because I understood when given choices, our population makes dumb choices and feels good about it.
Having said that, it is the one flaw in humanity I would love to see resolved.

That’s one of the reasons I’m not an Apple user. In fact, I have a hard time understanding Apple users, because you’re paying for a premium brand name that offers fewer choices, uses older tech (I still laugh that the $1,000 iPhone was using USB-C v2), is designed to slow down with every update to encourage you to buy the latest model, and — when Apple sometimes decides to discontinue your device (for example, those poor people who bought the last Intel model were in for a surprise only a few months after its release) — you’re completely abandoned, with virtually no legacy support, turning it mostly into a paperweight.
In fact, if it weren’t for Fedora Asahi Remix, most Apple computers would be e-waste paperweights. iPhones and iPads, however, do quickly become unsupported paperweights, since you’re quickly locked out of the store and stop receiving updates.
And about the Apple Store… that is it. Your choice is the Apple Store or bust. You cannot side-load apps or install apps from a third-party store or website, and you’re completely a prisoner to Apple’s whims. They even decide which apps can or cannot be installed on Apple devices. You don’t actually own your device.
Apple should not be successful, and yet so many people choose it. And why? Because it’s pretty? lol

There are people out there who truly need help, and we should help them. But a scammer isn’t a person, and they should receive a level of justice five times greater than the harm they caused or attempted to cause.
If your friend was a scammer, you have my sympathy, but if you side with them, then you’re not any better, and you owe the world an apology. Put your lower lip of your head and swallow.

Or maybe, it is that person who said their mother died and they needed money for the funeral, and how her father was barely coping with her loss, only to later claim she needed money for her mother's needed medication.
Yeah, scammers don't always keep track of their nonsensical stories.

Scammers aren't people in my eyes. In fact, I believe cockroaches has more morals, ethics, rights, and social standard than scammers do.
