So many social media posts by ex-academics who suddenly discover how exhausting, how capitalistic, how shitty academia was and hence exited. There is no need for uniformity in say when a marriage is considered legal (as in after what process/rituals). Uniformity needn't be the goal, justness should be. And personal laws haven't been static; they have continuously been going through change over the decades.
