Made this in Illustrator today as a template when working with a client to make a hand-etched dial.
It shows where the current pips, the brand info and date window are, as well as the size of the hands so that i can work around them. I can’t wait to start on a project for someone!

Designed a minimalist 3d printed phone holder and printed it on a friend’s 3d printer.
It allows a phone to be propped up at an angle and, with a bit of hot glue along the bottom edge, doesn’t slide on a desk.
This is the first functional 3d design I’ve created from scratch that works!

Has anyone else noticed how many pet food commercials are advertising new luxury pet food made with things other than grain and kibble?
Its all the rage now! Pet food that costs as much as people food. And “made with real ingredients”.
On the other hand, fast food commercials are faster, more often, and very visceral - just one or two second close-ups of people biting into processed food in this weird ecstatic way.
Just seems …I dunno, interesting.

Just takes time and patience.
Since this dial has a coat of lacquer on it, it’s only a matter of scraping it with an X-acto very slowly and gently.

Yesterday I went to a local bookstore and taught some folks how to make paracord keychains with carabiners on them.
I provided all the materials so it was a good free experience for people to learn a new creative skill.
In a few weeks I’m going to teach a class on making paper plants. I’ll be providing all the materials for that too, so all you’d need to participate is an interest in being creative.
Another time I’m gonna teach a drawing class.
The bookstore has no problem with this since there’s no money involved. These folks would never have had the money to sign up for a class on making crafty stuff.
In my opinion, Freedom Tech isn’t just about digital technology, it’s about removing fiat barriers to learning skills.
