yeah that's the site I didn't bother with for today's purposes. I do mention found family for marketing, because platonic relationships are a focus in my SFF and romantic ones are not, but that's all.
I imagine TV Tropes is more for understanding character types etc. in fiction than for writing fiction.

Querying is a gamble of return on investment of your time and energy. You can query hundreds of agents, with multiple books, and end up with no published book to show for your efforts.
Self publishing doesn't gamble roi in that a book WILL be published, not coz its anticipated to make a publisher $, but coz the author believes the story is worth telling, even to its target audience of 10 people (🤞 its more than 10!)

#WritersCoffeeClub Aug. 1: Why are you writing your current work?
Short answer : I saw the damage growing up with child abuse, neglect and family dysfunction did to many kids I went to school with. But circumstance separated us, and I never got to see if they escaped the cycle of family violence.
So I wrote a fictional escape & a trauma & healing arc for Rarkin, balanced with friendship, in a #SciFi #Fantasy setting.

#Writers and #Authors, I love how my #writing, #querying and #IndieAuthor discord is shaping up. We have plenty of SFF, #LGBTQIA+, #neurodiverse and quite a few #ChronicallyIll and #disabled writers and authors.

Things I'd like you to be aware of on #Autism Awareness Day
Autism Can mean we:
-take people/ things literally
-don't understand you because you aren't saying what you mean (see above)
-feel all the feelings, but don't know how to show them
-are overwhelmed by too much colour/ objects/ loud noises
Please note: I say 'can mean' because if you've met one autistic person; you've met one autistic person. Our presentations & experiences vary
