Since Elon, I noticed a sort of gradual decline (as well as a boosting of non-essentials, like lots of kendrick/drake opinions) -- but no MAJOR shift in "ideology"
But literally over the last few days -- a near 180 with a FLOOD of right-leaning (And oddly, "pro-Drake? lol) stuff

If you know me, you know I've always thought that leaving twitter was 1) an absolutely fine personal individual choice but also 2) NOT something you should *insist* others do because it was *possible* that the good of speaking with others etc might outweigh the bad

I understand that Mastodon is still the best model and I've been telling people that for years now.
But if this catches on here, I'm absolutely out, this place is FINISHED and not worth considering.

I wish I shared your optimism, but overall I think people *here* really miss the point that, on social media
CONFLICT IS GOOD.
This place is absolutely the right theoretical model, but it dislikes conflict TOO much. The banhammers here make the place boring (again depending on what you'd like this place to look like. I want to be the town square, not the "safe space")
