I've also read the book "Living Buddha, Living Christ by Thich Nhat Hanh" once I got myself entangled not only in Buddha's and Jesus' teachings. It's a great book, and I'm still exploring. It motivates me to write a similar book, because I feel like I could extend his story, given I'm somewhat a "buddhist" and somewhat a "christian".

Corruption and privacy... Ehhh. (Sigh.) Suppose a hypothetical ledger is so private and anonymous that no transaction can be deciphered to whom it belongs to. That doesn't mean the parties involved wouldn't be obliged to keep records and be transparents regardless, by law and regulations. The technology itself then is the layer that either allows (standardised) options for all - meaning either all is publicly there or none is or something in between. I choose privacy. The matter is that which the edge cases, in our case, cypherpunks, fight for because "if privacy is outlawed, then only outlaws will have privacy". They fight for our digital rights. That's not going to be optimal if all is public. Again, corruption is a human flaw, not so much a technological bug. (Just some loosely-tied thoughts.)

I finished building the financial censorship monitor at https://debankd.org/. The source code is visible at https://github.com/Kokkomaki/financial-censorship/ The site and the data may be the first to systematically collect financial censorship events. Do share it with others that may be interested in seeing it as visualised data. You can also contribute by submitting cases and correcting them. There's still some things left to do, but for now I am taking a pause and see where this is going.

I'm building a financial censorship monitor at https://nofunds.org/. It's not yet ready, and I'm still compiling a dataset. It's a monitor tracking cases of financial censorship, such as bank account freezes, payment blocks, and asset seizures used against journalists, activists, and civil society. It should be fully automatic, thought that might take some time to do.
I wrote my Master's thesis on this topic back in 2023. https://www.doria.fi/handle/10024/187407 Now with the power of Claude Code I can finally create an near-exhaustive dataset with code and AI. I have been working on this for a while, and it might still take few months as I am also starting my work. More on that soon. Claude Code is opening new frontiers for me.

I BUILT A LIGHTNING NETWORK PAYWALL ON MY BLOG. hashtag#Bitcoin stuff. Sorry for the caps-lock. I'm so stoked. It's a working proof of concept. Of course, you must pay 21 sats, which is is about 1 cent. I made it using Claude Code. It took me one day to make. But then the bug nation attacked. First came complexity and abstraction, and the following bugs and improvements, and bugs upon bugs and their friends. Sigh. Life of a (vibe) coder, huh?

Alex Gladstein tells the story of how Bitcoin is a trojan horse, which authoritarian regimes take inside their walls. He claims that Bitcoin is “freedom go up, price go up”, “freedom technology”. However, we generally mix up what Bitcoin the technology can afford for individuals with what it de facto does under messy, real life situations. We treat Bitcoin’s technical features as if they automatically lead to whatever, political or economic, freedom. But this only works if people understand and can safely use those features, which is often not the case. So the story is nuanced and that is not clear from the slogan.
