Apparently I'm one of the few people who got to read this thread but sadly I didn't think of taking screenshots. The following is what I recall from memory.
There is allegedly a branch or a subsidiary company of Strategy named "Stragegy GS", which stands for Government Services. According to Cato's thread this company had clearance to do business with American three letter agencies. The company board members of that company are public information, and the other posts focused on a few of them. All had ties to intelligence agencies and 20-30 year careers in the government.
That's all I recall. Thank god for Nostr!

Absolutely. And currently this can only be done "the proper way" with a DATUM gateway, as it allows you to mine at large scale with your node instead of just redirecting hash to someone else's pool.
Also, AntPool's share of the pie is much larger than that. Several other pools are known to be AntPool proxies because they serve the exact same mining jobs as AntPool.

It's true that renting hashrate for your DATUM gateway is like swapping your UTXOs for new ones coming directly from the coinbase transaction of OCEAN blocks, but there's very little privacy (if at all) considering all the information that Braiins sees (and what's public).
You can add several layers of obfuscation, like disabling worker names in your DATUM gateway and exposing it to the internet from an IP not linked to you. But even then someone who is continuously scraping the Braiins orderbook and the DATUM dashboard can notice when a new bid appears for the first time in Braiins and if a new miner pops up on the OCEAN dashboard with the same hashrate.
You can further obfuscate a bit by having multiple bids and using username modifiers (https://github.com/OCEAN-xyz/datum_gateway/blob/master/doc/usernames.md#username-modifiers-advanced) to distribute your hashrate among several reward addresses, but as you see there's no silver bullet.

Braiins can accept any kind of sats. I have heard of people who had KYCed UTXOs rejected, and others who had they non-KYCed UTXOs accepted.
They run an annoying third-party "compliance service" that accepts or rejects incoming payments, and they are vague about the rejection criteria on purpose.
The reason they ask you to send sats from your wallet instead of an exchange doesn't have anything to do with KYC. It's because when they reject a payment they always send it back to the origin address, so you must make sure you're paying from an address under your control, or you could lose these sats (typically when you withdraw sats from an exchange, a payment is made from an exchange address which you do not control).

And to be totally clear: it's perfectly rational to mine bitcoin at a loss, there are lots of reasons to do it and you can scale your cost to whatever amount you want.
What is not rational is to be a bitcoiner and never consider mining unless you can turn a profit, since mining is the activity that secures the asset you're holding.

It does in this case. If you care about validating and broadcasting your own blocks as fast as possible you don't want to run the node in a cheapo VPS that is timesharing the physical CPU with a thousand other virtual machines.
But besides this irrelevant non sequitur my point still stands: nothing stops any serious miner from having his own "pool-grade" low latency & well connected node. It's orders of magnitude easier and cheaper than running a big mining farm.

Why do you assume a miner's node has to be a dingy Raspberry Pi at home running exclusively over Tor?
If a miner cares about such a thing he can run their node on AWS and add a bunch of addnode= to their configuration, just like Ocean or anyone else can do it.
If they can afford enough ASICs to find blocks with certain regularity they surely can afford to rent a basic bare metal server to host their node.

Yes, I think it'd be an attack because Ocean would be crediting the attacker's shares to receive payouts from other honest miners, while they'd get to keep the full reward when they find a block.
However the protocol doesn't assume that miners behave honestly because they share their templates with the pool for inspection: https://github.com/OCEAN-xyz/datum_gateway/issues/1
Sharing the full template is not strictly necessary, though. I believe the datum_gateway could just send the block header, the coinbase transaction and a Merkle proof of inclusion of that transaction. But I don't know if that's what they have in mind for future versions of DATUM.

Hi, I'm the author of secp256k1_nostr.
We also stumbled upon the invalid signature errors while working on the nostrver-se/nostr-php library and figured out the fix: https://github.com/public-square/phpecc/pull/1
However the fix never got merged, so I did yet another fork of phpecc that includes it in case someone really needs a working PHP implementation of Schnorr signatures (uma/phpecc v0.1.3).
Besides the poor speed the problem with phpecc and all its forks is that they are not maintained at all (including mine!). Relying on libsecp256k1 is way better.
