cool thing is that nostr is permissionless and builders are free to do whatever they want even if others don't like it. for certain use cases censorship & moderation are a feature, not a bug, and nostr is flexible enough to accommodate those: see NIP-29, https://kubo.watch/ etc.

NIP-29 is lowkey the most hated NIP because it reverses the "smart client, dumb relay" assumption and is centralized by design. NIP-29 is private property, not a public square. The relay as the authority (who can read, who can poast, etc.) is a feature for this use case, not a bug. Incentivises running your own relay. Makes writing clients simpler. Your house, your rules.
The NIP-72 approach is naive, clunky, bandwidth and computation intensive, mostly poorly implemented and a dead end for what NIP-29 tries to accomplish.
NIP-29 is pragmatic, not purist. Keep hatin' but imma keep building on it.

i'm fine with using llms just during work hours while i sit in front of a computer, don't need a 24/7 agent. while i'm not working i'm focused on spending quality time with my son & wife so i try to stay away from the phone. my daily driver is claude code and it's slowly adding what openclaw offers too, so i'm fine with waiting. i'm also not comfortable giving hosted llms access to personal data.

granular content kind definitions and policies are being discussed, so getting the group metadata will give you all info you need. from what i can foresee eventually NIP-29 and communikeys will converge into similar capabilities.

NIP-29 as the foundation allows for a coherent UX and an efficient implementation since a single relay is the source of truth. My prediction is that by EOY there'll be a one-click solution to spawn your own community relay + white labeled Flotilla instance. It won't be perfect but the pieces are coming together.

I think twitter-like clients with a handful of content types will be less interesting than multi-content-type, ultra customizable (UI & custom content/feeds) clients like Nostria & Ditto. Pick & choose what you are interested in and those settings might even follow you from one to the others. Modern clients that lean into nostr's content type diversity & customisability are something really unique and powerful.

what if incumbent payment networks like VISA and MasterCard won't get disrupted by AI and crypto but instead will co-opt it? i see glimpses of this happening already.
they have the brand, trust & reputation and are able to piggyback on the efforts of stablecoins and blockchains.
they are sitting on massive amounts of highly contextualised proprietary data. this is fuel for AI value creation processes.
regulators are likely to force companies to use regulated, KYC/AML compliant rails if agentic economy takes off (right now it's insignificant).
reversibility and insurance matter more, not less, in the age of hallucinating autonomous shopping assistants.
food for thought.

the software is the "easy" part. the hard part is gathering & aggregating vast amounts of public and propietary data, making it digestible, serving it with ultra low latency and earning the industry's trust: that can't be vibed must be earned. they've been doing it for decades. a frontend to display and analyze that data is the easy part. aside from the data moat, the top analysts in wall street use it because everyone else is using it (network effect).

Software Engineers have held enormous leverage because the skill was scarce and demand massive. These workers are usually the biggest expense of any tech company, and they have enjoyed high agency due to having "Fuck you" money and plenty of opportunities.
Corporate management doesn't like high operational costs and employees with strong negotiating power. The rational move from the C-suite is exactly what we are seeing: commodify the skill, cut labor costs and maximise shareholder value.
