Last Notes npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis VCs will throw money at your face. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis looks like it! npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis slllloooooow speed. I thought about also getting a drill brace just to chew slowly through the wood but they are weirdly expensive (like more than an inexpensive power drill). npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis Now that’s a drill bit. (Biggest one I own, at least) https://cdn.fosstodon.org/media_attachments/files/116/992/137/491/938/562/original/237e63b68dedf469.jpeg npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis depends on how boring tariffing the wind is… npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis Yellowing plastic isn’t just a #retrocomputing problem! I need to retrobright my 7-ish year old HVAC sensors. https://cdn.fosstodon.org/media_attachments/files/116/987/635/638/466/320/original/2410c0f70f374294.jpeg npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I also suspect France has something in Saint Pierre and Miquelon (19km from Canada), give the smirk Macron has had on his face when he talks about Canada/US relations. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/nuclear-france-us-trump-greenland-9.7136790 npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis The amount of wink-wink/nudge-nudge news stories on Canada and the Bomb are getting hard to ignore. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/canada-remains-antinuke-road-to-bomb-getting-shorter-9.7283194 npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis god, that must have been total madness at kdays. In other festival news… I wonder how the tents at Taste faired. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I’m a little sad that it’s not a home grown, Canadian design, but I’m sure there are reasons beyond my understanding (… errr money… I assume the Korean built trains are less expensive). But I do wonder what else will change with TransEd out of the way. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis nice. I didn’t find that page! I’m glad that we didn’t do a bone headed thing like requiring a mid-line change. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I was looking up something about the #yeg Valley line extension on Wikipedia today and I was surprised. The new West and currrent Southeast use different rolling stock: Hyundai units on west and Bombardier on southeast. How is that going to work? Are you going to have to change trains (surely not) or are both type of units going to go from Mill Woods uninterrupted to Lewis Farms? npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis that’s what I ended up doing. Should be here tomorrow! npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I’ve only really successfully used a Forstner bit with a drill press and they’re quite pricy at that! npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis interesting. Do you kind of dig it out? npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I have no doubt about a good hole saw having the ability to cut it, but a hole saw needs to be longer than the depth it cuts, otherwise you just end up with a ring and a hole. I don’t think a typical hole saw could do it in a front/back pass. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I need to drill a big-ish hole (~1.5”) into my house’s band joist to run conduit to my garage. I’ve done this sort of thing before but my house is just a couple of years old and modern houses are… different. I need to go through ~5” of sprayed in insulation, the actually joist and the structural joist that holds up my deck. Wtf do I do that with? It’s going to be like 7-10” of different types of materials. I don’t think it’s hole saw territory. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis Haha… what the fuck. https://electrek.co/2026/07/23/tesla-solar-lease-contract-book-of-enoch/ npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis RE: https://mastodon.social/@keyboards/116972480672207285 So lovely, so unnecessary. #note1rz7…4erp npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis don’t over think printer surfaces/tables. While things have changed somewhat (i.e input shaping), there are older videos of people suspending bed slingers from bungee cords with no quality loss. I used a filing cabinet on wheels for years and it worked fine. I have a belt printer currently on a microwave cart. It’s fine 🤷♂️ npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis before I read the text, I thought the same thing. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis why tho? npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis i didn’t have an Apple branded dongle with a NIC (only usb/hdmi). Very mixed bag (3 of 5 brands don’t work) on off brand dongles for the NIC portion on Linux. HDMI and USB tend to always work. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis dunno about the pi but this recent annoyance did have me thinking about ways to simplify my setup. It would be nice to just plug in a single PoE rj45 and it boots. I try to find used hardware for household stuff so I don’t contribute to e-waste and the computing requirements are typically minimal. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis Anyone have a recommendation for a USB C wired network adapter that works reliably on Linux? A combo HDMI/usb a/power pass through is ideal. I run my #HomeAssistant on an old intel MacBook. The wired network runs through a combo adapter that appears to have bit the bullet. The other combo adapters I have on hand don’t seem to work with Linux. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis just feels like poor value for money. The phone line will cost them a few dollars a year and you’re going to pay 120. It also kind of feels like bait and switch. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I still think this form factor seems futuristic. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I thought about one for my kid. I don’t like it that is 9.99 a month if you want to call out. You can add another cell line for that price. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I ordered a Clicks Power Keyboard back in March. Supposedly, it's going to be manufactured this month. There seems to be a class of niche products that work this way. Often on Kickstarter, but not exclusively, that have these giant lead times. These type of products induce the "fry-from-futurama-take-my-money-meme.jpg" feeling but by the time they arrive, I've forgotten that feeling. https://cdn.fosstodon.org/media_attachments/files/116/941/186/020/038/353/original/608bfc318f9d2454.png npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis Cooled my house down to 21c by capturing the morning cool, I think that might be as low as it gets for a while. Already starting to close the windows/blinds to keep the sun from heating the house up again. Looking forward to Sunday. #yegwx npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis Edmonton (where I do live) shuttered their city centre airport and we largely regret it. The redevelopment has taken decades and travel has become worse. The area around the old airport has now useless travel infrastructure. It’s a waste. IMHO, the distant main airport is an outdated idea. Take a look at Montreal: Mirabel was a total failure. Now they’re opening another airport closer in (YHU) alongside YUL. Decentralization is good. 2/2 npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis To be fair Pearson, at the time of development, was not the same monster as it is today. I’m an only a minor stakeholder here: I use the airports and don’t live in the GTA. But from the outside, it does feel like people near Billy Bishop are fine exporting their travel infrastructure outside their own back yards. 1/2 npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis not exactly. Flying out of Hamilton is suboptimal too. It’s in the middle of nowhere. IMHO Pearson and Hamilton overlap in badness is that they dump mass transit (airliners) into mostly individual cars far from the city centre. 55% of folks to Billy Bishop ride transit, bike, or cycle out. Pearson is faaaar behind even with the up train. ‘Main’ airports are bad for communities. They increase car-centred sprawl by function of scale. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I made the same connection a week ago! I am absolutely here for this cultural evolution. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I’ll probably gain no friends here, but I wish Billy Bishop was expanded. I travel through Pearson a lot for work and its misery. I used to use Billy Bishop and it was a pleasure: less wait, less walking, less cascading delays, easier checkin, etc. Any direction you fly out of Pearson is used/populated, only one side for Billy Bishop. A high % of folks with hop in/out of cars at Pearson, few at Billy Bishop who will opt for public transport. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis such an odd target. I don’t get that issue being so attacked. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I’m fascinated by clay #3dPrinting but it seems hard to justify as a hobbyist with non-unlimited free time or a very specific adjoining passion) given the ancillary requirement (air compressor, kiln, etc). From elementary school art class I recall air or oven drying clays that were easy to work with. I wonder if they could make a 3d printer that could use more accessible materials. https://hackaday.com/2026/07/11/clay-extruder-enables-printable-pottery/ npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis 🙄 bike lanes seem like such weak sauce as a shit stirring issue. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis We had flash flooding yesterday in #yeg. Lots of videos floating around showing deluged roads and underpasses. In every video there is a different account in the comments talking about bike lanes. Is this an anti-cycling bot farm? I don’t get it. Do other cities have this same type of (clearly astro-turfed) anti-bike lane commentary? npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis Lookit! The #Valkey blog did a spotlight on me, Percona’s Valkey services and our perspective on caching. https://valkey.io/blog/percona-spotlight/ npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis best line from the article: ‘Or, as Khn put it so perfectly, “Neeeeh mrmlrr grbllbml euhhhhh!”’ npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I feel like there is some through line between #AngineDePoitrine and Count Binface. I don’t miss it, but I did miss some of the people I worked with. But today, I got one of them back! #note1xtx…pg8k npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis never done that, but sounds impossible. My mom dropped an entire 2 litre bottle of olive oil. It was a catastrophe. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis good tahini, clumsy chef npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I spilled 1/2 jar of tahini. 0/10, do not recommend. Kitchen may need renovations. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I had never really considered that. it’s a good solution (someone else brought that up earlier). npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis that was some well built hardware npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I use an 18 count egg tray actually. I hate having 2 cartons kicking around the fridge so 18 means you can buy a dozen when there are still some hanging around from the last batch. The real story: Unusually, we bought 2 dozen from the Old Strathcona farmers market. 18 went into the tray, 6 left over in the remaining carton. This lead to a marital conflict over the best way to handle the egg distribution. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I mean, it’s clear you’ve thought about this so I can’t fault you! npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis who goes longways in their fridge?! npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis that is the most random arrangement proposed yet. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis you’re an egg shuffler. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis smart! npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis If you have half-a-dozen eggs left in a dozen sized carton, what is the correct arrangement? https://cdn.fosstodon.org/media_attachments/files/116/868/767/592/599/778/original/9345a7a51f45cffe.jpeg npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis god. Near and far pointers brought back a flop sweat I haven’t experienced in decades. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis yeah, I mean, in principle it feels like an interesting thing to jump into while it’s still fairly early, but the messiness of it all is something I don’t want to deal with (or end up on the ‘wrong’ side when it’s settled). npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis this and the meshtastic thing turns me off to the whole technology space. It’s so confusing. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I went to the "Community Recycling Depot Bonnie Doon" and it was strewn with broken glass in the car path. This is facility has City of #Edmonton #yeg bins and signage. So, I call 311. 27 minutes later, I find out that a) this is owned by the Bonnie Doon Mall, not the city, despite the city bins and branding and it's across the street from the mall. b) It wasn't a litter issue, nor a waste management issue but rather a by-law complaint against the mall. https://cdn.fosstodon.org/media_attachments/files/116/863/912/098/883/281/original/c8617dc4d13376ff.png npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis never. I will stop this travesty. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis what sort of machine had a 5 pin DIN in 1995? Weird. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis fwiw, that format has been successful for me 🤷♂️ (both in acceptance and attendance). As someone who is often too on program committees, I get it though. I think there is a PoV difference between the submitter and reviewer. The submitter often has no idea of the experience of the program committee and that this format is pretty tired. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis the grunts and squeaks are lyrics in their language. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis AdP is made for Eurovision but… you know breaking records at Montreal Jazz Fest isn’t the typical pathway. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis #Eurovision news breaking on #CanadaDay no less. https://www.cbc.ca/news/entertainment/canada-will-enter-2027-eurovision-song-contest-9.7254616 npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I work in in-memory databases for about a decade now. The price of memory is a huge concern for me as it changes how people adopt these databases. Two thoughts: 1) DRAM is a long-term problematic market. Shortages seem to happen on 5 year cycles with different reasons each time. 2) Right now, it hasn't hit the customers of hyperscaling clouds. This isn't sustainable and it will have profound effect on the industry when it does. When 2 hits, you'll see long term solutions. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis This is bonkers good stuff. I never knew I wanted to build a displacement sensor, but now my head is spinning with ideas. #3dPrinting https://hackaday.com/2026/06/30/building-a-micrometer-level-displacement-sensor-with-3d-printed-parts/ npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis it’s tempting. I pay an arm/leg for legit streaming and cable. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I wonder what kind of BotNet it’s serving? 😉 npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis it’ll do good. Yesterday, my wife turned on the oven (closed of course) in our house for an hour and the whole house rose 2c and held it all night. We typically open up the house in the morning during the summer and it keeps it comfortable all day (except when you run the oven!). npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis -40c to ~+32c npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I’m… i live in a different world. Here in Canada, my house has R30 in the walls and wish I had gone R40. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis We’ll see. It looks pretty nice at least for another 24-30 hours or so. A few days of drying really helps. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis It’s over! #yeg #yegwx Time to not feel grimy and to clean the kitchen. https://cdn.fosstodon.org/media_attachments/files/116/796/979/023/448/638/original/d060eddc77dcaaae.jpeg npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis you should use a hammer next time. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis we had two months of rain in 2 days. It’s unreal. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis Welp. #YEG is getting taken out by rain. We gonna be a bit stinky tomorrow. #yegwx https://cdn.fosstodon.org/media_attachments/files/116/791/551/304/721/228/original/48730b99dc855aac.jpeg npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis Okay. I think I’m overthinking this. It’s really not a far run and my yard isn’t finished (…not that I’m happy with that years after completion of the house) so messing up landscaping isn’t a concern. It might be simpler to do a single mode fibre run. I have a concrete pathway between the two buildings that I could fairly easily hug with the run. Anyone done anything like this in #yeg? What depth do I need to go? npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis yeah - definitely change it. When I return to LinkedIn after a few hours I can definitely find where i left off with linear. Also, the sycophantic AI boosting mysteriously dampens considerably on linear in my network. Funny that. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis the CarPlay thing is irritating. Has VW said they would fix this or are you SoL? Our current car is like 10 years old and we just use Bluetooth… maybe we won’t miss it? Any way, lots of car reviewers are annoyed by things in the ID buzz but they’re not typically people. Anything you wished you’d known before buying? npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis sorry to weirdly jump in here but the ID Buzz, how bad is it really? I just test drove one today, I liked it but I’ve heard stories. @npub1g8x…7wul npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis Are you on the linear feed or the algorithmic one? npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis SV08 is a great machine burdened by a terrible nozzle system. An upgrade to a to a micro swiss flowtech makes it a near perfect machine. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I know it's a joke... but some celebrate not because of the direct impregnating bit but rather a gruelling paperwork process and intrusive interviews with social workers that culminates in a court order (dad via adoption). Also, yay 3D printers! npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis no shame when end of the quarter dons. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis end of the quarter. Some poor email marketing schmuk trying to make open rate numbers. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I mean, the failure mode of a freezer in our winters is “box” npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis maybe. Still 20c off of the tech spec minimal temp at -10. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis that was a device I was looking at for sure. It will be inside the building but it’s only rated for -10c and it’ll be unheated. We stay below -10 for months at a time. I’ll probably role the dice anyway but I’m curious about the performance at -40… npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis Humm. Is that still a thing? I had one 15 years ago that worked-ish. I’m also curious if it will traverse a sub distribution panel. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis I have a detached garage and I need to add wired (cameras, power relays) and wireless connectivity (garage openers). It's about 40ft/12m from the house to the garage. Should I use a point-to-point wireless bridge from the house to the garage + switch + AP or an outdoor wireless access point on the house + wifi-to-wired bridge + switch? I'm concerned about #yeg weather (-40c + snow) interference and I use Ubiquiti stuff. Any thoughts? Am I missing another option? (aside from a physical wire) npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis RE: https://flipboard.com/@ctvnews/edmonton-05m5ijd8z/-/a-_RSElMh6S_qz7Ptdd-RZqQ%3Aa%3A2823982346-%2F0 God, what a waste. - Buy building for 400k - Wait six years and do nothing but mow the grass - Try to sell it when it requires immediate demolition costing 600k #yeg totally lost focus on the Quarters in a near criminal way. #note10wn…67mq npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis Baja, British Columbia and Alaska shoots side eye at your dad joke. npub1tuk6cgtux45qe089wja2ptnqjde6x4h0rhs6ktks4ys2hwwm8llsep9wu4 Kyle Davis no idea.
