I’ve been thinking about this, the beautiful thing is nostr and lightning are perfectly setup to be pay per post. Even a small amount will keep spam to a minimum. And if you opt in to give a percentage of your zaps to the relay as well, it could pay the relay operator both per post and if you’re posts are popular, they may have more traffic but could get sats for zaps.

Would be sweet to have a feature to sort your posts timeline like Reddit does:
by most reshares, most likes, most zaps, (day/week/month/all time) and then a weighted average of them all “most popular”.
Not sure if this could be implemented client side or would require a NIP.

Industry is a waste of power… Any production that converts electricity into (resistive) heat is wasting energy that could be used for proof of work mining or data center use first, which directly creates low grade heat they can use.

Foundation Passport review and thoughts
Having just lived through the setup and misery of a blockstream jade setup last week, I felt compelled to write a quick summary of my passport setup and experience.
It’s a pricey hardware wallet at $259, but now that coldcard and ledger are both coming out with $200-300 devices, it feels right in line.
I purchased because I wanted a fully airgapped, QR code reading publicly usable hardware wallet. Since the jade doesn’t currently support safe public airgapped use, due to no way to input a pin, the passport felt like my best option.
The hardware feels like an old Nokia candy bar phone, very solid and heavy in your hand, but feels quite good quality. The buttons feel a little finicky and loose, like a slight redesign could give better feel to match the premium feel of the overall design.
Upon setup, you get cards to write down your 24 word seed phrase, and the device also makes an encrypted backup to an included industrial micro sd card.
I decided to try the envoy software and it is very simple and straightforward, feels great for newer bitcoiners who want an easy to use Bitcoin only wallet with no extra features. Use with your phone is very simple and 100% airgapped, scan a QR code in both directions to send a transaction.
Overall I’m quite happy with the device, although I’m also excited to see what new hardware wallets come out this year, the coldcard q1 looks compelling and whatever Jack Dorsey ends up coming out with.

Wow, umbrel kicks ass.
Finally setup an Intel n95 based nuc with 16gb ram and 2tb hdd.
It was so easy: download Ubuntu, flash to a usb stick with balena etcher, install on the nuc.
Once installed and logged into Ubuntu, go to a terminal and type
curl -L https://umbrel.sh | bash
5 minutes later, umbrel is installed and accessible via ip address in browser.
Login to umbrel and get Bitcoin core downloading and nostr relay, tailscale for remote access, pi-hole for ad blocking, and nextcloud to host your own files.
Never has home hosting been so simple, seemless, and powerful for the average pleb.
