This is what the Strait of Hormuz looks like right now. I am using the MarineTraffic app on my Android phone.
Because all ships have a transponder, you can easily see the traffic anywhere in the world, which could be near where you live or in a war zone.
It would be great to see a picture of what this looked like before the troubles, but unfortunately, I do not have that.
The important thing is which of these ships is entering the strait that is an oil tanker. You can click on each one of these to figure out which one is an oil tanker, but of course most ships are not that.

He's not shy about telling people what they want to hear, like he did at that Bitcoin conference, the one before he got elected, where he just crushed it with everybody. He then left saying, "Have fun playing with your Bitcoins," implying it's all bullshit. But he would say that he's getting rid of the SEC guy and everybody would cheer and he's like, "Oh you really don't like that guy? Okay I'm gonna get rid of him on the very first day." Everybody went crazy and voted for him. Well that was easy. I will say as dumb as his promises are, he has kept a lot of them. Like no tax on tips, for example. That seems like a Democrat thing you would think.

Boy, that is the truth, isn't it? Nobody seems to care about what matters. They get all wired up about abortion and gay marriage and naughty books in the schools that nobody reads anyway, and flag burning and bathroom stuff, and it's just like ridiculous stuff and about the latest little stupid thing, whatever it is, but the basic fact that the government is burning through half of GDP, almost, I think it's 46%, if you include local and state government, and nobody cares. That is indeed a major upside. I used to fly in and out of Lynchburg, Virginia a lot before my parents both kicked the bucket.
And the only place that flights go to from there is Charlotte. So it's really like a gate that's very far from the Charlotte Airport, but it's just like a Charlotte Airport gate.
So the bad news is, if there's a problem, you're not going anywhere. There are no alternatives, and there are frequently problems, and they can charge whatever they want because they know they got you.
It's funny to look up at the sign that has the list of all the air flights that are leaving, and they all say "Charlotte, Charlotte, Charlotte, Charlotte, Charlotte."

So I have OpenClaw and it's awesome but it builds code for me and sometimes things are busted. I put Claude Code CLI on the machine and I use it to look at and try to debug OpenClaw.
I can see how we could get into a situation where you got a bunch of buggy crap and there's another agent that's kind of watching the buggy crap and rebooting it and dicking with it all the time to keep it going.
You get the situation where A.I. just makes hideous code more hideous, as one of the commenters was saying on an earlier post.
A.I. bloat will become this nightmare that nobody has any way of digging out of eventually. Maybe not that long from now.

my whole life has been one of witnessing technology miracles, one after the other, for decades. Every single thing that I've seen happen since 1970 or even before, because of the moon landing, would be just unimaginable 500 years ago, back when their lives went for decades, centuries, generations without really changing. I'm an old person. I started coding when my father brought home a programmable calculator when I was like 13, I think. That would have been in 76 or 77 maybe
I knew instantly this would be my career. Software. That has been a true statement
There's been various moments of excitement but lots of boredom in the last 50 years but I've never been more excited about technology than I am right now with all of the AI stuff
I'm out of my mind having fun with this stuff and it's reignited my coding passion
