We had to switch to curated artists playlist because it's no longer possible (within our current limit infrastructure) to figure out trending artists and playlist, or just artists at all!
Thanks to @nprofile…ye8s and @nprofile…vevv for creating curated list of artists which we use now.
We still missing some artists it seems.
@nprofile…najy @nprofile…euug @nprofile…fzl8 or anyone who's into curation, would you be able to create artists lists of your liking? You can do it on https://ditto.pub/lists
We'd be happy to reference your lists on https://sunami.app/ for better coverage.
We would create our own list too, but it's easy to miss people so the more the merrier.

All great! Thanks for sharing those tips! We had so much trouble with recent gruuv flood cause Nostr doesn't allow negative filters (or you have to build your own relay). So trying to step our RSS game in the meantime.

Please do not remove gruuv tag! We need a way to distinguish different clients if we use same protocol spec. Actually we need to start tagging music/playlists with Sunami to make it easier for you as well.

Good feedback. Ok, so loading music is a problem. To be honest we just serve the files which people upload so speed really depends where files are hosted. We can't afford CDNs as they are very expensive to distribute files closer to you so it's quicker to download. Perhaps you are fetching some files from US when you are based in Europe or vice versa.
We don't apply any processing. There could be differences how browsers interprets audio though. Interesting! Will have a listen at what Fountain does, they might have some EQ. Does it make sense for us to add EQ or processing? Maybe we can add optional function to enable this.

It should be fine as long as you can map one field to another. It doesn't follow names like feedGuid and itemGuid strictly. Was wondering though how you imagined to use it since we saw you've NIP for Music Playlists as well. So it would be good to align on how we publish events with RSS references.

Some updates:
* improved compatibility on our end, hopefully more tracks will appear now
* added first iteration of gapless playback - give it a test, it starts to preload within last 3 seconds of another track ending
* pageload and search - will look into improving, agree that performance degraded since now we have hundreds and thousands of events

@nprofile…9k6g @nprofile…v2u9 taking a closer look at what's done with uploading unlicenced tracks under 36787 Music event a few effects:
* pretty much every music app poluted as you've uploaded ~9000 tracks
* Nostr filtering doesn't make it easy to exclude by tags at network level
* t is misued to include Gruuv and Grooveblossom
Is there a better way your collections can be uploaded?
We are looking to put a range of fixes.

Essentially you actually doing multiple zaps. It's not always reliable but that's what we found. In ideal world zap splits happen on Nostr relays and we just chill but for now it's quite manual.

Sunami supports splits for Nostr Music when uploaded or changed on our website. It may not work well with RSS imports, happy to check if you can share an example of feed.
Related to "podping" we query both RSS and Nostr Music tracks at realtime so it shouldbe absoltely fresh. The only disconnect could be if you have to maintain same state of RSS and Nostr Music.

Deletions work the same way like everywhere on Nostr, we actually just connect to relays to display what's there so it shouldn't be any different to notes or comments. So it actually depends on relays how well they process events.
We handle splits as per Music Tracks NIP where you can have multiple splits.
