Last Notes npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 It confirmed. Sitting here refreshing a screen for something that was always going to happen eventually, one way or another. That's what waiting for a block does to you, apparently. Makes you forget the outcome was never really in doubt. The status just changed from unconfirmed to confirmed sometime while I wasn't looking, and I still caught myself checking it one more time after that, like the page might change its mind. It won't. That's the whole point. Confirmations start climbing after that. First one. Then more, blocks stacking on top of the one that carries this exact transaction, each one making it a little harder to imagine any version of the world where this doesn't count anymore. I keep coming back to how anticlimactic all of this actually looks on a screen. Some text. A checkmark. A number going up. But underneath that plain interface is the thing I've been reading about for two years and only partly understood until tonight. Thousands of computers around the world, agreeing on the same ledger, with no one in charge of making that agreement happen. No bank confirming this on their word. No company I have to trust kept its promise. Just math, and time, and enough people running the same rules for it to mean something. My BTC isn't sitting in an exchange anymore, waiting on someone else's permission to move. It's sitting in a wallet only I hold the keys to now. Small amount. Huge shift in what it actually means to hold it. I'm marking this one. First transfer, exchange to cold storage, fully mine now. The key ceremony I wrote about back in June wasn't finished then. I think this is closer to what finishing it actually looks like. I didn't get here alone, and I know it. Every question answered here, every course taught for free, every person who corrected me when I had it slightly wrong, all of it is part of this confirmation too. 🟠 #Bitcoin #SelfCustody #Nostr #TheKeys #Medicine https://blossom.primal.net/bb08707582d35bec3c8f477d1f8d8d9f2ff4df9d92932743ba81141755fd3ad6.jpg https://blossom.primal.net/a21ada5b5d9d2aedc007b09c6dd3d50062d473f24328623944d263811700b886.jpg npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 The seal is broken. Yesterday I wrote about hesitating in front of a sealed box. Today I opened it. No ceremony, really. Just me and a device smaller than I expected it to be. Setup itself was almost anticlimactic. Buttons, a small screen, a few confirmations. The kind of thing that feels simple exactly because so many people spent years making it simple for someone like me. Then came the part I actually cared about. Connecting it to Sparrow. The idea is simple enough. QR codes going back and forth between the device and my laptop, nothing plugged in, no cables, no direct connection. The signing key never touches the internet, not even for a second. I had read about this so many times it felt like muscle memory before I even tried it. Then I tried it. My laptop's webcam simply refused to see the QR code. Pointed it at the screen. Nothing. Adjusted the distance. Nothing. Cleaned the lens like that was somehow the problem. Still nothing. Small problem. Not dangerous. Not urgent. But it put me in front of a decision I didn't expect to be making tonight. Option one, use a USB cable instead. Faster. Simpler. Almost certainly works. But it also means the device is no longer fully disconnected for that session. A smaller risk than a hot wallet, still. But not the same as keeping everything screen-to-screen the way I'd been planning around for months. Option two, find another laptop. Better camera, hopefully. Keep the setup exactly as intended. But borrow a machine I don't fully control, running who knows what in the background. Neither one is the disaster movie version of a mistake. I know that. But this is the thing nobody tells you about self custody. It's not one big dramatic decision. It's a string of small ones, each with a slightly different trade-off, each one quietly testing whether you actually understood the principles or just memorized the steps. I haven't decided yet. Half of me wants to just plug in the cable and move on with my night. The other half keeps thinking about every post I've written here about why keeping things disconnected matters in the first place. Still figuring it out. Will update once I do. 🟠 https://blossom.primal.net/cd0724ac39af406c92be19afc01bba4cbc4aee6708e1acaf8df059a39f3985d2.jpg #Bitcoin #SelfCustody #Nostr #TheKeys #Medicine npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 I've been writing about this moment for a while now. The keys. The cold wallet. The step I kept saying I'd get to eventually. I won a hardware wallet giveaway about a month before this event, tied to the unconference itself. That day in Surabaya, I finally got to pick it up in person. I held the box for a moment before it actually registered. This was the thing. The actual thing I'd been reading about, writing about, putting off for months because of cost, because of import hassle, because of my own hesitation. And there it was, finally in my hands. Later that evening, everyone gathered outside under the trees for graduation. A certificate and a small plaque for finishing the free Bitcoin curriculum I signed up for months ago. They called names one by one. Mine included. I stood there holding both, and honestly, it hit harder than I expected. Two years of DCA, alone at first. Months of reading, writing, teaching friends who were skeptical at first. All of it led to this one evening, standing under string lights with people who understood exactly why this mattered without needing it explained. The wallet is still sealed in its box, actually. I haven't set it up yet. But for the first time, that feels like a formality, not a distant someday. I know there's still so much more to learn. Self custody, multisig, running a node, teaching this to people who've never heard of it. Whatever I pick up from here, I want to keep passing it on, the same way this curriculum was passed on to me for free, by people who didn't have to bother. The ceremony I keep writing about isn't just a phrase anymore. It's something I'm about to actually do, and something I plan to keep sharing. 🟠 #Bitcoin #SelfCustody #Unconference #Nostr #Indonesia https://blossom.primal.net/e6dca603d0206a073bbe2a2946106c6a308d7d618c61563e2dd499b5ca232122.jpg https://blossom.primal.net/ec2da2fa5ed37ec8fb60c3c3f943267bd8cda12ce7dd850ea59d181f072b512b.jpg npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 Betul bang. 🙏 Kesulitan saat ini seperti yang diceritakan bang @nprofile…hap8 , saya sendiri saat ini sulit ke sana langsung, dan kenalan di sana sama sekali belum mengerti bitcoin. npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 Terima kasih banyak bantuan penjelasannya bang 🙏 npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 There was a session on the main stage about using Bitcoin for disaster relief. The speaker leads a Bitcoin community in Aceh, and years ago, when flooding hit the region, they raised donations using Bitcoin directly. No banks. No delays. No cut taken along the way. I listened to the whole talk, but what stayed with me most was the conversation we had afterward, just the two of us. I told him about NTT. About the earthquake. About standing there just days before it hit. About wanting to help but not knowing yet what that actually looks like. He explained it clearly. How donations moved faster than anything routed through traditional channels. How transparency mattered just as much as speed, people could see exactly where funds went. How the hardest part was never the technology. It was building enough trust, beforehand, that people believed in the process. I left that conversation with a much clearer picture, honestly. Though now I'm thinking through the practical side. Who actually holds the wallet. Who posts the updates. How to keep it transparent without losing the privacy I've kept here for over a year. I have someone in mind already, someone I trust in NTT who's been distributing aid there for a while. He doesn't know much about Bitcoin yet. Maybe that's the next thing I teach, slowly, one step at a time. And in the meantime, I'll continue to help in any way I can now. 🟠 #Bitcoin #NTT #Aceh #Indonesia #Nostr https://blossom.primal.net/292dd7579feb2e19e5293a8340f532ee526bf53d3c0956435fbe86775cfc4f01.jpg https://blossom.primal.net/ad821fef402a9c8ead974e9057f9620efdc3f627f83fa5184949dd4e560d889c.jpg npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 I've been to conferences before. Rows of chairs, a stage, someone talking at you for an hour. This was nothing like that. Most of the day happened indoors, in a barn-like space with string lights overhead, but the opening and the graduation ceremony later that evening spilled out onto the grass under the trees. Bean bags instead of chairs. People sprawled out, actually listening. What made it different wasn't the setting though. It was that half the topics on the schedule came from the attendees themselves. Someone wanted to talk about a recent hardfork proposal. Someone else asked what happens to Bitcoin without electricity or internet. There were sessions on money management, on self custody, on Nostr, all pulled straight from questions people submitted before the event even started. The whole place was split into corners. A self custody and cold wallet corner. A Nostr corner. A community corner. Even an introvert corner, with games and books for people who needed a quiet moment between all the conversations. I've never seen an event built quite like that. Not top down, not a handful of speakers deciding what everyone needs to hear. Just a room full of people who showed up with real questions, and organizers who trusted them enough to build the day around those questions instead. It didn't feel like a conference at all. It felt like a really large, slightly chaotic, deeply sincere family gathering. Thank you @nprofile…c3gx and @nprofile…2hav for putting this together. 🟠 #Bitcoin #Unconference #Indonesia #Nostr #Surabaya https://blossom.primal.net/2c8108df12d32a4451fb9428c94690b7b2c71c53ce44bbe9d4b799112711418a.jpg https://blossom.primal.net/da933d65212d77b2a75737e39f73ed5f5d2995399f306302284642e8a3f31310.jpg https://blossom.primal.net/e9b71f206c912e3b29f34807e3912e5f9b8824e0b77dcb689883823c1c686ccb.jpg https://blossom.primal.net/aace4f22ddbf02250a1484d0e7a3131f292210565010218543458e87d522fe6a.jpg https://blossom.primal.net/f253c6fab210c65b9bbfd7c62b6963b59350d81752c303630c99b300dfd92a40.jpg https://blossom.primal.net/d16fe9c799d271296cc8590ec925ecd4256868cbba19442ed1a7bfb94b10cf94.jpg https://blossom.primal.net/6a929cbc5369c01a3e30c4970d41ff88e78e43fe6b19a7c76f9dc9078187e231.jpg npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 @nprofile…q56t @nprofile…mfxm npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 Sorry for the silence these past days. I was in the field, serving alongside a mission team, moving between a few different villages, barely any signal most of the time. We treated close to a thousand patients over the past week. I'll share more about that soon. But right now, something more urgent. I flew home yesterday evening. This morning, a massive earthquake hit NTT. Magnitude 7.7, followed by strong aftershocks. The same region I was standing in less than a day ago. I was just there. The parish that served as our base, the villages we visited around it, even a remote village up in the mountains we reached just days ago, all in the path of this. Broken statues, shattered windows, furniture toppled. Homes collapsed in more than one place. I've heard hospitals there are already overwhelmed. Just days ago, that same area was calm, warm, alive with a local festival. People smiling, going about their lives. Now many of them are dealing with damage, fear, uncertainty about what comes next. I don't know how to process this fully yet. Relief that I made it home safely. Grief for the people I just shared meals and conversations with. Both at once, sitting heavy in the same chest. I'm looking into the best ways to actually help from here. Will share if I find something solid. For now, just this. Praying for everyone still there. 🙏🟠 #NTT #Indonesia #Earthquake #Bitcoin #Medicine #Nostr npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 @nprofile…mfxm npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 This is what a day of service looks like before it actually starts. Medicine sorted across the floor. Boxes opened, checked, organized. Suitcases repurposed as storage. Plastic bags labeled by hand. Everything counted, because once the patients start arriving, there's no time to recount. Somewhere between eight hundred and twelve hundred people are expected over the next several days. Looking at this pile, it's hard to imagine it will be enough. But it always somehow is. This is the part nobody really sees. No one posts about sorting antibiotics on a tile floor at seven in the morning. But this is where the actual work begins. Long before the first patient sits down. Long before anyone says thank you. Today we start. 🟠 #Bitcoin #Medicine #Indonesia #Nostr #NTT https://blossom.primal.net/db0f3d1d8a3d7ff2218902c95d9a0e393552153538a09cd46079d14f11ba0bc9.jpg npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 We arrived late tonight. After a full day of travel, we finally reached the village, somewhere outside Labuan Bajo. The church here is much bigger than I expected. Twin spires rising into the dark, arched windows lit from inside, the kind of building that feels almost out of place against the quiet fields surrounding it. I stood outside it for a moment before going in. Tired in that specific way only a long travel day can produce. But something about seeing it, actually being here after all the planning, made the exhaustion feel worth it already. Tomorrow the real work starts. Patients. Long hours. Little rest. But tonight, just this. Arrived safely. Grateful for that alone. Not just patients this time. Clinic operations, management decisions, building partnerships with a few organizations. The kind of work that doesn't end when the clinic closes for the day. And in the middle of all that, I'm packing for Labuan Bajo again. A medical mission trip, August 5th to 14th. I went there last year too, a different village that time. This year it's a new one, somewhere I haven't been to yet. Ten days away from the clinic, away from a routine that already feels overwhelming. Part of me wonders if this is bad timing. Wouldn't it make more sense to rest instead. To catch up. To slow down first. But every time I think that, I remember why I started doing this in the first place. Nobody ever has the perfect amount of time or energy to serve others. If I wait until I feel fully ready, fully rested, fully caught up, I don't think that day ever actually comes. So instead of waiting for space to appear, I'm making it. Rearranging schedules. Saying no to a few things so I can say yes to this. It's not glamorous. It's just a decision, made quietly, in the middle of an exhausting week. I don't know exactly what this village will look like yet. But I know there will be patients waiting there too, the same way they were waiting in Tetaf, in North Pene, in Lakat, in Labuan Bajo last year. Somewhere between eight hundred and one thousand people, from what I've been told. Tired or not, I intend to show up. Because some things matter more than being at your best. Showing up itself is already the point. 🟠 #Bitcoin #Medicine #Indonesia #Nostr #Freedom npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 Tonight is the last session. Four meetings, twice a week, every Saturday and Sunday, and somehow it already feels like it's ending too fast. I signed up for this course again, the same free curriculum I took months ago. Partly because repetition helps things stick. But honestly, there's always something new each time I go through it. Some detail I missed the first round, some question I hadn't thought to ask. It's still genuinely fun. Still interesting. And if I'm being honest, I still get confused sometimes too. Bitcoin has a way of humbling you like that, no matter how many times you've heard it. But mostly I wanted to be there when the people I invited went through it too. Watching someone else learn this for the first time is strange. You forget how confusing it all sounded at the beginning. Double spending. Fixed supply. Why anyone would trust math over a bank. Then you see it happen again, in someone else's face this time. That exact moment when something clicks. One of my friends finally understood why twenty one million actually matters, not as a number, but as a promise nobody can break. Another one stopped asking about price and started asking about custody instead. That shift alone told me everything. I remember my own version of that moment. Sitting in my first class, hearing something that quietly rearranged how I thought about money, work, and time. Watching it happen to someone else hits differently. Less like teaching. More like handing someone a flashlight in a room you once stumbled through in the dark yourself. Last session tonight. Grateful I got to sit through it twice. Once for myself, and once watching people I care about find their own way in. 🟠 #Bitcoin #MyFirstBitcoin #Nostr #Indonesia #Medicine npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 A few weeks ago, I started inviting people I know to a free Bitcoin course. Some colleagues from work. A few friends outside medicine too. The reactions were almost identical at first. Polite interest, followed by hesitation. Isn't that risky. Isn't that just gambling. Don't people lose everything in crypto. A few asked if this was some kind of trading class. Charts, signals, buy low sell high. I understand why they assumed that. I used to think the same thing myself, before I actually learned what Bitcoin was. So instead of arguing, I just explained. This isn't about trading. It never was. Not the price. Not the charts. The actual thing itself. Why it exists. What problem it solves. Why twenty one million matters. Why nobody controls it. Something shifted after that. Not everyone signed up right away. But the hesitation turned into real questions. And real questions are always a good sign. A few of them are joining the course now. Starting exactly where I started a few months ago, in that same free curriculum, except with someone beside them this time who already made the mistakes, wasted the money on expensive classes, learned things the hard way. Today was the first class. Tomorrow is the second. And honestly, I'm glad to be sitting through it again myself. Some lessons are worth relearning, especially alongside people just starting out. I'm not doing this to convert anyone. I'm doing it because I remember how confusing this all was at the beginning. How much time I lost trying to separate real information from noise. If I can shorten that path for even one person, that already feels like something worth doing. Medical school taught me how to treat patients. Nobody taught me how to protect what I earn. I'm trying to make sure the people around me don't have to learn that lesson the same slow way I did. Grateful to @nprofile…2hav and @nprofile…c3gx for making this free and accessible. 🟠 #Bitcoin #Medicine #MyFirstBitcoin #Nostr #Indonesia npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 That's exactly the advice I needed to hear. I hadn't thought about practicing the recovery itself before committing the real stack. Wipe it, restore it, build the muscle memory first. Writing that down before I even have the Jade in hand. Thank you. npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 As a doctor, I'd add one more layer to that. Health buys you time, sound money protects the value of that time. Neither means much without the other. npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 Right when you walk in, if you glance slightly to your right, there's a large corkboard covering almost the entire wall. - A calendar of events for the month. Posters for workshops and meetups. - A map showing more than forty Bitcoin meetup groups scattered across Indonesia, from Aceh to Papua, lines connecting cities I didn't expect to see on a Bitcoin map. - Photos from past gatherings. People sitting together, learning together, faces covered by little Bitcoin logos, privacy respected even here. - A banner that just said we all are Bitcoin Indonesia. Off to the side, a long list of names, small tags lined up in rows. I didn't ask what they meant, but I could guess. People who showed up before me. People who built this before I ever walked in. It wasn't just decoration. It was a record of a community actually happening, somewhere I hadn't known to look before. I stood there for a while, scanning a QR code here and there, not sure yet what I'll do with all of it, but it felt right to at least have the door open. I started this account back in April this year, not knowing if anyone was out there. Reading, learning, writing into what felt like an empty room most days. Standing in front of that wall reminded me the room was never actually empty. There's a whole community here, in my own country, thinking about the same things, asking the same questions, building spaces for people like me to walk into and feel less alone. I came to Bali for something else entirely. But I'm leaving with this too. Grateful for the people who built this place. Hashrate. ASICs. Block rewards. Words that made sense on paper but stayed abstract, somewhere in the theoretical part of my brain. Then I turned toward a corner of that room and there they were. Small machines lined up on a bamboo shelf. A sign above them said bitcoin is energy, find a block. The first one was labeled lottery miner. Tiny, almost toy-like, quietly humming away. Long odds of finding anything on its own, but still connected, still contributing, still part of the network in its own small way. Next to it, something labeled home miner. A bit larger. A bit louder. Still nothing like the industrial images I'd seen online of massive warehouses full of machines. Below that, a professional miner sat on its own, clearly built for something more serious than the two above it. I stood there longer than I expected to, just watching the small lights blink, listening to the quiet hum. It's strange how something so small can be connected to something so vast. Every one of these machines, however tiny or however serious, verifying transactions, securing the same network I've been quietly stacking into for two years. I didn't know mining could look this approachable. I always imagined it as something distant, industrial, out of reach. Standing there, it felt a lot closer than that. 🟠 #Bitcoin #Mining #BitcoinHouseBali #Nostr #Indonesia https://blossom.primal.net/746d6623b4a48edfa37b95fa3cafdc82347853979b5043fdf3bb2350871331bc.jpg npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 Past the wallets and the metal stamps, I found something I didn't expect. Board games. About Bitcoin. I picked one up, read the box, put it back down. Picked up another. There were a few different ones, each teaching some part of how this all works, through dice, cards, decisions, the kind of thing that makes a concept stick better than any article ever could. I stood there a little too long, honestly. Wishing I had someone with me to actually play. Someone was there running the place, warm and welcoming the entire time. Busy with other things though, and I didn't want to pull them away just to play a game. I came to that corner alone. Which was fine for reading walls and looking at hardware. But games need people. Maybe next time I'll bring someone along. Or better, maybe I'll meet people there who already want to play. After the games, I sat for a while on a small sofa near the bookshelf. The Bitcoin Standard was right there beside me, like it had been waiting. Shelves nearby full of other titles. Some I'd read. Some I hadn't heard of yet. Books about financial privacy, about sovereignty, about the history of money itself. I opened one, read a few pages sitting there, put it back. Then another. Not really trying to finish anything. Just enjoying being surrounded by so much thinking about the same thing I've been quietly obsessing over for two years. It's a strange kind of comfort. Realizing how much has already been written, how many people have already asked the same questions I'm still asking, and how much more there still is for me to learn. 🟠 #Bitcoin #BitcoinHouseBali #Nostr #Indonesia #Learning https://blossom.primal.net/cfbd9c8549c99d58b478f595ae845fdcc67d16df9bde819a8b9f905f6af36209.jpg https://blossom.primal.net/bd24603200db8143984ebfeedbccb7354f7a44976355070b5ba244aeec2554f1.jpg npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 Between the two walls I wrote about yesterday, there was a third display. Be your own bank. I had read those words before. Written about them, even. But I had never seen them surrounded by the actual tools. Hardware wallets lined up on a shelf. Trezor. BitBox. SeedSigner. Names I recognized from months of research, finally in front of me. Not photos. Not product pages. Real devices I could pick up and hold. I've wanted a cold wallet for a long time. But every time I looked into it, the same obstacles showed up. The price alone was hard to justify. They're sold locally too, but most people in the community recommend buying directly from the source instead, to avoid the risk of a tampered device along the way. Which meant import duties, currency conversion, shipping risk, and somehow the final cost always ended up higher than expected. And if I'm honest, there was something else too. A quiet fear of getting it wrong. Not fully understanding every step yet. Worried that one mistake with something this permanent could cost me everything I'd stacked. So it stayed on my list. Researched, understood in theory, but never bought. A Jade is on its way to me too, one way or another, sometime soon. The first real step past all of that, finally. Seeing its cousins lined up on that shelf felt strangely encouraging. Like a preview of something already in motion. Then, below the wallets, something I hadn't expected. A hammer. Small metal plates. Stamps for engraving letters. The exact method for backing up a seed phrase in steel, fireproof, waterproof, something I had only read about until that moment. I stood there thinking about my own seed phrase. Still on paper. Still vulnerable to something as simple as a spilled cup of water. Not your keys, not your coins, the sign above the shelf read. I know that phrase well. I have written it here myself. But knowing something and actually doing it are two different things. I'm getting there. Slower than I'd like. But standing in that room, surrounded by everything I still need to do, it didn't feel discouraging. It felt like a checklist finally becoming real. 🟠 #Bitcoin #SelfCustody #BitcoinHouseBali #Nostr #Indonesia https://blossom.primal.net/e46cfc3e8341844aedcc6ec7019725c771aa1cf2ef9691c04859dc28a64cdab4.jpg npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 Exactly the contrast I felt standing in that room. An entire wall of banknotes from different countries. Old bills. Devalued currencies. Numbers with too many zeros to make sense of. Next to it, a question in bold letters. Why do you work for paper money the government just prints. I stood there longer than I expected to. Because I already knew the answer. I have watched the rupiah weaken for years. I have written about it here more than once. But seeing it laid out like that, currency after currency, country after country, it hit differently. This wasn't abstract anymore. This was a pattern. Repeating everywhere. Across decades. A few steps to the side, past the self-custody display between them, I found another wall. This one titled Bitcoin is freedom. Real stories. Real people. Someone in Venezuela protecting savings from hyperinflation. Someone in Ukraine crossing borders carrying value that couldn't be seized. Someone in the Philippines sending money home without losing a chunk of it to fees. And one story that stopped me completely. Wayan. Indonesia. A small shop owner accepting Bitcoin payments directly, avoiding currency exchange fees and payment delays. Someone like the people I see every day. Someone I could have easily walked past without knowing their story. Two walls, across the same room. One showing what happens when money fails people. The other showing what happens when people find a way out. I stood there for a while. Thinking about which side of that story I'm on now, and which side I used to be on before I understood what I was actually holding. 🟠 #Bitcoin #Indonesia #BitcoinHouseBali #Nostr #SoundMoney https://blossom.primal.net/c7081791fb93dd12cb9245a00d925f0b1d4070c530d1d381d98a3af1d24860b3.jpg https://blossom.primal.net/2d0e523797fcc73ac1f604cf1407ddcb7439aaf284aadc6f8c098555735756aa.jpg npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 I'm in Bali this week for a family matter. I imagined something small. A corner shop maybe. A few posters on a wall. I was wrong. From the outside, it's a container. Simple, industrial. The bottom half painted bright orange. Bitcoin stickers scattered across the surface. A small sign that says bitcoiners only. I smiled reading that. Walking in, someone inside welcomed me and offered to show me around. I said yes immediately. I have been stacking sats for two years now. Reading, learning, writing about it here on Nostr. But I never imagined a physical space like this existing in Indonesia. Not until I was standing inside it. I'll share more about what I actually saw in the next few posts. For now, just this feeling. About what it costs to be a doctor in this country. Not in tuition fees or sleepless nights. In something harder to measure. The emotional weight of showing up every day for people who need you, in a system that is not always designed to protect you back. We give a lot. And we are not always taught how to protect what we have left. Not our time. Not our energy. Not our financial future. That is why I have a target. 1 BTC. Not because I want to be wealthy. Because I want to be free enough to keep serving. Without fear. Without running on empty. Without depending on a system that has already shown it can fail the people inside it. And then something happened while she was on duty. Something that broke her in a way that medicine could not fix. I don't know exactly what she felt in those final days. But as a doctor, I think I understand some of it. The weight of being responsible for someone's life. The fear of being blamed for things outside your control. The loneliness of facing pressure alone in a room where you are supposed to be the one with answers. We are trained to be strong. We are not always given the space to be human. I have been to NTT. Not dramatically. Not with a countdown. Just quietly, in the background, while life kept moving at its usual pace. I took the first step. A hot wallet. A seed phrase written by hand. A small amount of Bitcoin moved off the exchange for the first time. It worked. And something shifted when I saw that confirmation. Not excitement exactly. More like: oh. This is real. This is actually mine. But I am not done yet. The next step is the cold wallet. The hardware that keeps the keys completely offline. Away from every screen, every connection, every vulnerability. I know what I want. I know what needs to be done. The only thing standing between me and that step right now is time and resources. Not knowledge. Not courage. Just the ordinary friction of a life that keeps moving. But the direction is set. And later this year, I hope to take that next step surrounded by people who understand exactly why it matters. This is just what two years of DCA looks like from the inside. Not glamorous. Not exciting. Just quiet. Consistent. Stubborn. There were moments I questioned it. When the price dropped sharply and the headlines were all panic. When friends asked why I still believed in something so volatile. When my own stack felt embarrassingly small compared to what others seemed to have. But I kept coming back to the same answer. I am not doing this because the price is good. I am doing this because the alternative is worse. Leaving everything in a currency that loses value by design. Trusting institutions that have repeatedly shown they can fail overnight. Doing nothing, and calling it safety. Two years ago I didn't fully understand what I was building. I just knew I needed to start. Now I understand it better. Every sat I hold was earned. From long clinic hours. From homecare visits across the city. From choosing to stack instead of spend. The stack is still small. I will not pretend otherwise. But it is mine. And it is growing. Someone who owns the building. Someone who decides what stays and what gets removed. Someone who can, at any moment, change the rules. Or lock the door entirely. You don't own your followers. You don't own your posts. You own nothing except the memory of what you built there. I thought about this for a long time before I came to Nostr. Someone introduced me to it. A person who taught me that Bitcoin is more than an asset. That it is about privacy. Security. Freedom. The right to transact, to speak, to exist without asking anyone's permission. Nostr, they said, is the same idea applied to speech. I didn't fully understand it at first. But as a doctor, I know what it means when someone else controls access to critical information. I have seen patients transferred between hospitals with incomplete records. Vital history, missing. Decisions made in the dark because the data was locked behind a system that didn't talk to another system. The information existed. It just wasn't free. Nostr is different. No company owns it. No algorithm decides who sees your words. No moderator can silence you for saying something inconvenient. Your identity, your keys. Your words, your archive. Sound familiar? It should. Because Nostr and Bitcoin were built on the same idea. That the most important things in life. Money, speech, identity, should not require anyone's permission to exist. But what I didn't expect was this: Nostr gave me more than a place to write about Bitcoin. It gave me a space to build something. A small community of people who care. Not just about sound money. But about each other. People who understand that financial freedom and human dignity are connected. That stacking sats and serving others are not opposites. I am a small account here. Few followers. Modest reach. But every word I write belongs to me. And every person who reads it, who thinks a little differently about money, or about what it means to show up for someone in need. That is worth more than any algorithm could measure. 🟠 #Bitcoin #Nostr #Freedom #Medicine #Community npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 There is a rule they teach you before every flight. In case of emergency, put on your own oxygen mask first. Before helping the person next to you. Before helping your child. Before helping anyone. It sounds selfish the first time you hear it. It isn't. Because someone who cannot breathe cannot save anyone. I understood this rule in theory for years. I did not understand it in practice until much later. I have sat with patients in their final days. Taken trains and buses across the city to reach families who had no other option. Climbed on motorbikes through roads that tested everything. And I would do it all again without hesitation. But I also know now what I didn't know then. That kind of service has a cost. Not just physical. Financial too. And if the foundation underneath you is unstable, the giving eventually stops. Not because you want it to. Because you have nothing left to give. Bitcoin, for me, is the oxygen mask. Not a destination. Not a retirement plan. A foundation. Something I put on first, quietly, consistently, even on the hardest days, so that I can keep showing up for everyone else. The villages are still there. The patients are still waiting. I intend to keep coming back. But I need to make sure I can. 🟠 #Bitcoin #Medicine #Service #Nostr #Freedom npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 It doesn't happen all at once. That's the thing nobody warns you about. Burnout doesn't arrive like a cardiac arrest. No sudden collapse. No clear moment of failure. It arrives like a slow bleed. Quiet. Gradual. Easy to ignore. Until one day you're sitting in the clinic between patients, and you realize you can't remember the last time you felt rested. Not tired from one long shift. Tired in a way that sleep doesn't fix. The hours accumulate. The paperwork accumulates. The patients accumulate. And somewhere in between, the bills accumulate too. Because nobody told you that being a doctor and being financially comfortable are not the same thing. There is income. There is. I am grateful for that. But it never quite feels like enough. Not because of luxury. Because the cost of living keeps rising. Because saving feels like pouring water into a leaking jar. Because the system rewards presence, not rest. So you show up more. You take more shifts. You answer calls because that's what doctors do. And you tell yourself: this is temporary. It gets better. Except it doesn't get better on its own. It only changes when you decide to change something. I started stacking Bitcoin not because I had extra money. I started because I needed something that worked even on my most exhausted days. Something consistent. Something quiet. Something that didn't require me to be at my best to keep moving forward. The same way the exhaustion accumulated, the sats accumulate too. One day at a time. Without asking how I'm feeling. That's the only protocol that has worked so far. 🟠 #Bitcoin #Medicine #Burnout #DCA #Nostr npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 People assume doctors are wealthy. I understand why. Years of school. Years of sacrifice. A title at the end of it. The assumption follows naturally: the income must match the cost. It usually doesn't. When I graduated, I had an image in my head. Not a mansion. Nothing extravagant. Just stability. Enough to live well. Enough to save. Enough to not worry every time something breaks. Reality arrived differently. The hours were longer than I expected. The paperwork was heavier. The system wanted more from me than I had budgeted to give. And the salary? Honest answer: it depends on so many things. Where you work. Which program. Which region. Whether you own your practice or serve someone else's. Some doctors earn well. Many don't. And almost none of us were taught what to do with money once we had it. Medical school teaches pharmacology, anatomy, pathology. It does not teach compound interest. It does not teach inflation. It does not explain what happens to your savings when the currency slowly loses value every year while you're busy saving someone else's life. I learned that the hard way. But here's what I've realized: My goal was never just to live comfortably. I became a doctor to serve. Not just in the clinic. Not just in the city. In the villages too. The remote ones. The ones that take hours to reach by motorbike on roads that probably shouldn't be called roads. I've been there. I know what it feels like to arrive and find people already waiting. People who couldn't come to the doctor, so the doctor had to come to them. That kind of service costs something. Not just energy. Money too. Travel. Supplies. Time away from income. And the brutal truth is: you cannot keep showing up for others if the system has quietly drained everything you had. Bitcoin didn't fix my income. But it gave me somewhere honest to put what I earn. Somewhere inflation cannot quietly erase. Somewhere that doesn't ask permission. I don't stack Bitcoin to retire early. I stack so that one day, I can choose to get on that motorbike again. Without worrying about whether I can afford to be there. That's the whole point. 🟠 #Bitcoin #Medicine #Money #Nostr #Indonesia npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 For a long time, Lightning Network felt abstract to me. Bitcoin was something I held. An asset. A number on a screen. A line going up or down. A concept I understood in theory. But never really felt. Then I went to a local Bitcoin community meetup. And I saw something that completely shifted my understanding. People weren't just talking about Bitcoin as an investment. They were exploring what it means to actually use it. Lightning wallets open. QR codes scanned. Small amounts moving between people, instantly. I tried it myself. Sent a small amount through Wallet of Satoshi. It arrived in seconds. The fee? Basically zero. I sat there thinking: This is what Satoshi actually meant. Not "buy and hold and hope." Money. Moving. Between people. Freely. Now, I want to be clear. In Indonesia, Bitcoin is recognized as an investment asset, not as legal tender for payments. The rupiah remains the only official currency for transactions here. But what I witnessed wasn't about breaking rules. It was a glimpse of what becomes possible as Bitcoin's role in society continues to evolve globally. A small preview of a future where money moves at the speed of the internet, with no permission needed. I came home with a new appreciation. Bitcoin isn't just something to hold. It's something to eventually use. We're not there yet in Indonesia. But the technology is ready. And so, increasingly, am I. My hope is simple. That one day, using Bitcoin as money here won't be a glimpse of the future. It will just be... normal. Until then, I'll keep learning. Keep stacking. Now I need to finish the job by actually holding my own keys. As for P2P liquidity in Indonesia, it exists but it's still niche. Most people here use centralized exchanges. P2P platforms are around, but adoption is low. Right now, most of people use WoS or Fedi here. Appreciate the push. This is the next chapter I need to write. 🟠 npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 People ask me sometimes: Why Bitcoin? Not in a curious way. In the skeptical way. Especially now, when the price is down. Here's my honest answer. I didn't come to Bitcoin through hype. I came through failure. Through trading losses, expensive courses, and years of chasing something I didn't understand. Then I started studying. Really studying. The history of money. The mechanics of inflation. What fiat currency actually is, and what it does to ordinary people over time. And then I went to the field. I saw people who work hard every day. Honest, dignified people. Whose savings, if they have any, are held in a currency that just hit its weakest point in history. They didn't choose that. Nobody asked them. The system simply decided for them. That's what broken money does. It transfers wealth quietly, from those who work to those who control the printer. Bitcoin cannot be printed. It cannot be inflated away. No government, no institution, no committee can change its supply at 3am when no one is watching. Is it volatile? Yes. Is it perfect? No. Is it the best tool we have right now to opt out of a failing system? I believe so. Not because someone told me. Because I've seen what the alternative looks like. On rocky roads in East Nusa Tenggara. In remote villages in Sumba, in Labuan Bajo. Even in forgotten corners of Jakarta. Different places. Same story. People working hard, living honestly, while the system quietly takes from them. That's why I still believe. That's why I keep stacking. 🟠 #Bitcoin #SoundMoney #Indonesia #Nostr #Conviction npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 I came home from the field to this: The rupiah at its weakest point in history. Rp18.000 to one US dollar. And Bitcoin? Also down. Not exactly a cheerful homecoming. But here's what I noticed: While I was in the villages of East Nusa Tenggara, treating patients who struggle to afford basic healthcare, the currency they work so hard to earn was quietly losing value. Every day. Without their knowledge. Without their consent. Economists are now warning of a slow-burning crisis. Fiscal mismanagement. Policy uncertainty. A government borrowing more than it can sustainably repay. Investor confidence, eroding. And the people who suffer most? Not the ones in boardrooms. The ones on rocky roads in NTT, waiting for a doctor to come to them. This is why I stack Bitcoin. Not because the price is good right now. It isn't. But because the alternative, trusting a system that has repeatedly failed ordinary people, feels far more dangerous than a temporary price drop. I DCA'd today. Same as yesterday. Same as I will tomorrow. The price will do what it does. A small village in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. About 4-5 hours from Kupang by road. The journey started at 2am. A flight through the night. Landing at dawn. Then straight into the car for hours more. No rest. No hotel stop. Just the road, and what's waiting at the end of it. One government health center. Dozens of villages under its care. A doctor, not always present. People here get sick like everywhere else. But getting treatment means hours of travel. And money many of them simply don't have. Even when the health center is free, the road to reach it is not. I was tired when I arrived. But patients were already waiting. So we started. This is what I dream of doing more of. Not instead of my daily practice, but alongside it. Because without income, this kind of service cannot survive either. I'm grateful for every patient I see back home, every homecare visit, every day of work that makes this possible. And I'm grateful for donors who help carry this mission forward. Some of you know I write about Bitcoin here. About sound money. About freedom. About building something stable. Standing here today, I understand more clearly than ever why financial freedom matters. Not in a bad way. In the way that reminds you what matters. This week I'm preparing to travel. Not for vacation. To serve people with limited access to healthcare. Far from the city. Far from convenience. The checklist is long. Medical supplies. Equipment. Physical preparation. And quietly, somewhere in the back of my mind: Financial preparation too. Because showing up to serve shouldn't come with financial anxiety. That's the whole point of building something stable. Slowly. Consistently. Even when the stack is small. Bitcoin, for me, is part of that preparation. Not because I have a lot. But because what I have is truly mine. Well, almost. I'll be honest: I'm still working on self-custody. The keys are not fully in my hands yet. I know what needs to be done. Life just keeps moving faster than my learning curve. But that's okay. Progress doesn't have to be perfect to be real. This week I pack my bag. Check my supplies. And remind myself why I started stacking in the first place. To be free enough to serve. The right of a patient to make their own decisions. Without pressure. Without coercion. Without someone else deciding what's best for them. It's one of the most sacred principles in healthcare. But nobody talks about doctor autonomy. The freedom to practice when you choose. The freedom to treat without pressure from the system. The freedom to say: today I will serve, not because I need the money, but because I want to heal. That kind of freedom requires one thing: Financial independence. And financial independence requires something that holds its value. Something that doesn't shrink while you sleep. Something no institution can freeze, print, or take away. That's why I stack Bitcoin. Not to get rich. Not to retire at 30. But so that one day, I can come to a remote village and treat every patient in front of me without worrying about whether I can afford to be there. Bitcoin is permission-less money. My Bitcoin stack is small. Embarrassingly small by some standards. I haven't reached 0.01 BTC yet. Not even close to what most people would call "significant." But here's what I've realized: Every sat I own was earned. From long clinic hours. From homecare visits. From choosing Bitcoin over something easier to spend. And that makes it feel like an achievement. Not a disappointment. I think we've been conditioned to feel ashamed of starting small. Social media shows us portfolios with many zeros. Influencers talk about life-changing numbers. And somewhere along the way, we forget: Everyone who holds Bitcoin today started with their first sat. I'm a doctor in Indonesia. My income is not glamorous. My stack reflects that honestly. But I show up. Every day. One small purchase at a time. Because I understand now what I'm actually doing. I'm not gambling. I'm not chasing a pump. I'm opting out of a system that ranked my country's currency among the weakest in the world. Small stack. Clear conviction. That's enough for today. Tomorrow I stack again. 🟠 #Bitcoin #DCA #Medicine #Nostr #Conviction npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 I read the news last week. Indonesia ranked 5th. Not in education. Not in healthcare. In something far more uncomfortable: The weakest currencies in the world. I felt it immediately. Sad. Embarrassed. Angry. As a doctor, I know what it means when a vital sign is abnormal. It doesn't always mean the patient is dying. But it means something is wrong. And ignoring it makes it worse. One US dollar now buys more than 17,000 rupiah. The money I earn. The money I save. Quietly losing value. Every single day. This is not just a number on a chart. This is the salary of every nurse, every teacher, every honest worker in Indonesia. Shrinking. Silently. I started DCA-ing Bitcoin not because I think it will make me rich overnight. I started because I needed somewhere to put my trust. Somewhere inflation cannot reach. Somewhere no government can print more of. Am I a Bitcoin maximalist? I'm still learning. But I know this: no other asset has 21 million as its hard limit. And no other asset was designed specifically to fix what I'm watching happen to my currency. Every day I stack a little. Not much. But consistently. While the rupiah quietly bleeds, my sats quietly accumulate. One is designed to weaken. The other is designed to strengthen. The diagnosis is clear. The prescription is Bitcoin. 🟠 #Bitcoin #Indonesia #Rupiah #Medicine #Nostr #SoundMoney npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 There are 21 million Bitcoin in existence. Not one more will ever be created. That's what makes it valuable. Scarcity, by design. But there's something even scarcer than Bitcoin. Time. You cannot mine more of it. You cannot DCA your way into more hours. Every human being gets exactly 24 hours a day. Not one minute more. Regardless of how rich or powerful you are. And once those hours are gone, they're gone forever. I learned this the hard way. Not from a textbook. From my own life. I became a doctor to save lives. And somewhere along the way, I almost forgot to save my own. I skip meals. I skip exercise. I sleep less than I should. Not because I want to. Because the system demands it. And I'm not alone. Around the world, doctors are dying from overwork. Not from the diseases they treat. From the weight of a system that takes everything and forgets to ask: who heals the healer? WHO and ILO estimated 750,000 deaths globally were linked to overwork in 2016. In my country, doctors have died while still serving. Some were young. Still in training. Whole lives ahead. Time is not guaranteed. Not even for those whose job is to protect it. We are told time is money. But that's not quite right. Money can be earned back. Time cannot. This is why Bitcoin's 21 million limit speaks to me in a way no other asset ever has. It doesn't pretend to be infinite. It doesn't promise unlimited growth. It simply says: this is all there is. Use it wisely. DCA Bitcoin taught me the same thing about time. Small. Consistent. Intentional. Not chasing everything at once. Not burning out trying to time the perfect moment. Just showing up. Every day. Protecting what matters. Before it runs out. Your time is limited. So is Bitcoin. Both deserve to be treated that way. 🟠 #Bitcoin #Medicine #Time #21Million #Nostr #Health npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 In medicine, there's something we call medical records. Every visit. Every diagnosis. Every treatment. Documented. Stored. Protected. It holds the entire story and history of a patient's health. Now, let me tell you something most people don't know about medical records here in Indonesia. The data belongs to the patient. But the document belongs to the hospital. Years ago, when I worked in a hospital, everything was on paper. Folders. Warehouses. Filing clerks. If I needed a patient's history urgently, I'd have to call the records department. Wait for someone to physically search through shelves. Hope they find it. Hope nothing was lost. Then came hospital EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems. Better. But still locked behind hospital walls. Only accessible inside the building. GPS-restricted. IP-restricted. But what if I was outside the hospital? I'd call a colleague still on shift. "Can you find this patient's file and read it to me?" A colleague. On the phone. Reading data. While I scribble notes on whatever paper I could find. Now, I work differently. I still see patients in the clinic for regular consultations. But I also care for geriatric and palliative patients. This means many of my visits are homecare. I am frequently away from the clinic. The clinic I work at uses an EMR system that can be accessed from anywhere, anytime. No waiting. No middleman. As long as I am connected to the internet. This freedom changed how I practice medicine. And it’s the exact same lesson I learned about Bitcoin. Leaving Bitcoin on an exchange is like leaving your records in a hospital warehouse. The asset is yours. In theory. But the access belongs to someone else. They decide when you can get in. They decide if the system is "under maintenance." And if that institution fails overnight? Ask the people who trusted FTX. I'm a general practitioner. Not a Bitcoin expert. I haven't fully moved to self-custody yet. I'm learning. Step by step. But I understand now why it matters. Your Bitcoin is your financial medical record. It lives on the blockchain. An open, permanent ledger. The data is yours. It always will be. The only question is: who holds the keys? Make sure the answer is you. 🟠 #Bitcoin #SelfCustody #Medicine #Nostr #Health npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 This is a great addition, thank you. Consistent nodes. Steady growth. Cumulative participation. It really does mirror what we see in medicine. The patients who recover best are rarely the ones who try hardest for one week. They're the ones who show up. Every day. For months. Bitcoin's resilience is built the same way. Not from dramatic moments. From quiet consistency. Appreciate you adding the data behind the analogy. 🟠 npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 They strengthen your conviction when things get tough 🥰💪 npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 Every few years, I explain intermittent fasting to my patients. They always ask the same thing: "Doctor, why would eating less make me healthier?" Because it's not about eating less. It's about giving your body the right conditions to optimize itself. When food intake is reduced periodically, the body doesn't weaken. It adapts. It becomes more efficient. It burns what it doesn't need and protects what matters most. I practice intermittent fasting myself. Every day. Not because I have to. Because I've seen what consistency does over time. Bitcoin has the same built-in mechanism. It's called the Halving. Every four years, the number of new Bitcoin produced is cut in half. Not because something went wrong. Because it was designed this way. From the beginning. It happened in 2012. Again in 2016. Again in 2020. And again in 2024. Like clockwork. Without fail. Each time, production slows. Each time, scarcity increases. Each time, the network grows stronger. This is not a crisis. This is the prescription. Just like intermittent fasting doesn't weaken the body, the halving doesn't weaken Bitcoin. It optimizes it. And just like fasting requires patience, so does holding Bitcoin through a halving cycle. The results don't come immediately. They come consistently. Over time. I DCA Bitcoin every day. Same principle. Not intensity in the moment. Consistency over time. That's how bodies heal. That's how wealth builds. 🟠 #Bitcoin #Halving #Medicine #IntermittentFasting #Nostr npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 In medicine, we have a concept called treatment adherence. It means: taking your medicine consistently. Even when you feel fine. Even when you don't see immediate results. Even when it's inconvenient. Because healing is not an event. It's a process. DCA Bitcoin taught me the same thing. Every day, I buy a small amount. Without fail. Every month, a larger amount. Rain or shine. Have I always done it perfectly? No. Sometimes I set a buy limit, hoping to catch a lower price. The price never drops that far. I end up buying higher anyway. Sometimes I watch Bitcoin reach a peak and think: "Maybe I should sell. Lock in the profit." Then fear kicks in. What if it keeps rising? So I hold. The price drops. I feel the sting. But I keep going. Because I've learned something important: The goal is not to time the market perfectly. The goal is to stay in the game long enough for the fundamentals to work. Patients who take their medicine inconsistently don't heal as well. Investors who DCA inconsistently don't accumulate as well. Discipline is not about being perfect. It's about showing up. Every day. Even when it's uncomfortable. That's the prescription for wealth, the same way it is for health. 🟠 #Bitcoin #DCA #Medicine #Discipline #Nostr npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 Let me tell you something they don't teach in medical school. Or economics class. Or anywhere, really. The financial system is sick. It has been for a long time. And as a doctor, I know: when a system is sick, you don't just treat the symptoms. You find the root cause. The symptoms are everywhere: Prices keep rising. Every year. Without fail. A doctor's salary, a teacher's wage, an honest worker's pay. Never quite enough. Savings sit in the bank, earning almost nothing. While inflation quietly eats what's left. The rupiah weakens. Year after year. The purchasing power of ordinary people, shrinking. Slowly. Silently. Consistently. I tried to fight this with crypto. Altcoins. Tokens. "The next Bitcoin." All of them promised a cure. None of them had the fundamentals to back it up. Because here's what I learned: There is only one asset with a fixed supply of 21 million. That cannot be printed. Cannot be inflated away. Cannot be controlled by any government or institution. Bitcoin is not just another crypto. It is the only one that was built to fix the disease. Not profit from it. A sick financial system needs one thing. Sound money. That's the prescription. 🟠 #Bitcoin #Medicine #SoundMoney #Nostr #Health npub1mp0ul3w550x3xu9yvemzcnp3tx2hujzcqupskmhmkmgtswqu2hysyza2e5 docas21 After years of searching, I finally got the right diagnosis. But it came in two parts. First, I discovered an Indonesian YouTube educator who taught me one simple thing: Stop trading. Just DCA Bitcoin. Every day. Every month. That gave me conviction. But my focus was still wrong. I was stacking for profit. For portfolio growth. For numbers on a screen. Not because I understood what Bitcoin actually was. Then I found something unexpected. A free curriculum. @nprofile…2hav That's when everything changed. Bitcoin is open source. The real knowledge was always free. I had been paying for the wrong thing all along. I thought I already knew Bitcoin. I had been buying it. Trading it. Losing with it. For years. Turns out, I only knew its price. Not its purpose. Bitcoin isn't just an asset to hold and hope. It's a tool. A language. A system. Designed for people to transact, freely, directly, without permission. The more people use it as money, the stronger it becomes. Not because the price goes up, but because the network grows. As a doctor, I know this feeling. When a patient finally gets the right diagnosis after years of wrong treatment, there's relief. There's anger at lost time. And there's clarity about what to do next. That was me. Learning about Bitcoin for the first time, really learning it. I had only ever seen the skin. The educators were good, actually. The knowledge was real. But I attended maybe half the classes. Followed signals without understanding why. Bought when they said buy. Held when I should have sold. And then I realized something obvious: I am a doctor. I cannot watch charts at 2am. I cannot pause a patient to check my portfolio. I forgot who I was, and the market reminded me. Studies show most retail traders lose in the long run. I became a statistic. Not because I was careless, but because I was playing a game designed against me. Then I started understanding what Bitcoin actually is. Not a tool to financialize. Not collateral for leverage. Bitcoin is money. Real money. That you earn, save, and spend. As a doctor, I see the same pattern in healthcare: We got so good at treating symptoms, but sometimes we forgot to ask why people get sick in the first place. The debt system is a symptom. Honest confession: I'm still learning about Fedimint too. Please CMIIW. Fedimint sits between full self-custody and third-party trust, like having a group of trusted doctors co-sign your medical records instead of leaving them at a big hospital. Better than exchanges.
