Most beekeepers we know use crystals and locked containers to store woodenware in. I disagree that they must be burned, unless you want to be hardcore organic.

Those mothballs are powerful! We use paper plates with moth crystals on the top super of frames, instead of the balls. You can reuse, it is better than having any wax moths, which are the spawn of Satan.
If you have a deep freeze, put supers/frames in them, for several weeks, no plastic bags or moth crystals needed, and the deep freeze will kill all wax moth larvae, etc. We used to use plastic bags but they were not as effective, and are prohibitive with lots of hives.
I think the wax moth is the worst of all the beekeeping scourges.

Thumb update: @Kingbee lanced it with his powerful man hands (I had thought I had done a good enough job, but you just try to stick a pin in your own painful thumb 4 times, and go deep enough to hit pay dirt). The result was a hideous success. It still hurts but it is not throbbing, impossible to zip or unzip, press my phone buttons, etc. I just still cannot recall what I did to create this mini-disaster…😬🤔🩹

Agreed. In my case, it took the many kind npubs who patiently walked me through the key pair conundrum, or the intricacies of clients, signers, and so on, to keep me active. It was the general populace of npubs who are not devs or coders, who post/note early and often, who keep me long-term.
I (we, @Kingbee) have made what I consider lifelong friends here. I am committed to foraying into the @Graphene Pixel landscape due to the privacy concerns of the iOS among others. Another of my bridesmaids (of which above friend was maid of honor), and the one who introduced me to @nprofile…28h4, is also terminal with an inoperable brain tumor. She is younger than I. That girl could barrel-race like a pro, played some mean softball, and was as pretty as Reese Witherspoon.
Her daddy worked for Pioneer Seed and achieved quite a level of wealth. He used to visit Auburn while we were in school there (cow college) and take us to a nice steak dinner. He was the sweetest man. He, too, died of an inoperable brain tumor, too young.

I really enjoy the tones of BTC Sessions and Walker. Very resonant voices. When you are as sick as I have been, there is a soothing aspect to listening to a podcast with intelligent, velvet tones, (in between my spastic sneezes and post-nasal drip 🤧😬)

I know I would have frozen solid if it were a rattlesnake. They are incredibly beautiful, much more imposing creatures, and yes, they kindly sound warning before attacking, which gives them ascendancy in the hierarchy of honorable entities IMHO.
It is remarkable that you were sharp-witted enough to retreat before committing yourself into the path of no return. I walked down steps that gave me a vantage point to where I should have seen the snake on the doorstep.

Did you see where I stepped directly on a copperhead’s head, and miraculously was not bit? If the snake had not crawled into our honey shop (@nprofile…28h4 was immediately behind me, I had a gift in my hand so I could not see well) we would not have killed it. As it was, Kingbee had his wits about him, saw the whole thing unfold before he stepped on the snake, and before it got itself hidden irretrievably in our honey shop.
