Hey Kate, I appreciate the enthusiasm! I will warn you about working in bitcoin though. Any podcaster or bitcoin company will tell you, the income fluctuates with the bitcoin price. So if you have a lot of your net worth in bitcoin, tying your income to bitcoin as well can be jarring.
That being said there are lots of ways to help that may not require full time work. Creating educational short form content is still pretty niche. Only a few people are doing that well.
We could also use a lot of help on app UX and branding imo. Especially for the private open source apps. If you attend conferences and meetups and talk to people you might be surprised what kind of jobs pop up as well.
Doing something like setting up a booth at a farmers market and selling graphene OS phones is one thing I've considered. In the end though, whatever you do that adds value to the market and allows you to save excess value in bitcoin is helpful. I think a nice dose of NGU will fix a lot of these problems, so reducing the circulating supply is still a big contribution 🤙

We may have different goals. That's fine by me. Bitcoin doesn't care. My goal is for Bitcoin to replace all other currencies to the extent which is possible. That means SoV, MoE, and MoA as a global standard.

Yeah that's as a distressing picture you painted. Though evenf from the early days Hal Finney knew there would still be a need for banking services.
As I see it currently bitcoin will be helpful is correcting the imbalances at the top of the system between the most powerful actors on the planet. The downstream effects of that will be positive for everyone, but that doesn't mean evetybody will use multisig. Most will probably use ecash mili-sats.
The important distinction to me has more to do with transparency, permissionless money, and the ability to opt out.

Have you ever met a bitcoiner who thinks every bitcoin user needs to hold their sats on a cold wallet and maintain their private key?
As the technology stands today this is not only unrealistic, it's mathematically impossible.
Being a utopian purist does not help this. There are scaling solutions, but they all require trade-offs. Some of the tech is clunky, but we are making progress with federations, lightning, and ecash.
If you care about bitcoin adoption the process is incremental, not zero to one hundred. Meet people where they are at and show them one step at a time 🤙

Today someone showed me a feature on snapchat that allows you to search for public posts geographically.
It's interesting because you're able to zoom in on places like Iran, Gaza Strip and see what life is like there. This can be a good check on the usual propaganda outlets. For example, Iran is far more developed than many in the west realize and I didn't see any posts about the ongoing conflict.
The conditions in Gaza were unsurprisingly terrible, but there are some beautiful families doing their best. I thought to myself about what they might be able to do with bitcoin if I sent them some. I also wondered if there was some way to teach them about nostr.
I'm going to reach out to one of these families and see where it goes. We don't speak the same language, but that doesn't matter anymore. If the tech we are building is useful at all, maybe it will be useful to people who are in bad situations, but still have internet access.

This all goes back to SoV, MoE, MoA and which comes first.
Realistically it's SoV first, but we need to be working on MoE in parallel. Right now fiat and shitcoins are more convenient, but the trade offs are unacceptable over the long run.
This process will take time. In the meantime it seems that nostr is at the forfront of MoE with lightning and ecash. The recent square move was a big help, but I would love to see more user friendly low fee options for private wallets. For example, right now my minibits wallet is failing to connect to NWC for some reason, which seems to happen randomly without explanation. There have been some advancements in the last few years, but we aren't ready for normies to use bitcoin yet.
NGU could bring funding to these kinds of projects. It's up to us to prioritize them.

Big time bubble vibes. It seems to me that the recent LLM craze will plateau in its advancements, just like every other technology that does not rely on network effects.
Considering smartphones for example, there was a time when each iteration was significant and the benefits of paying for the most recent phone far outweighed the costs. Phone tech seems to have plateaued about ten years ago. The main thing keeping it alive now is planned obsolescence.
Eventually the difference between frontier LLMs and older models will become negligable. Then gradually, the difference between enterprise and open source will do the same. This could be accelerated dramatically by another deepseek drop, but it will happen eventually even without one.
Many business applications of "AI" will continue to require bleeding edge models to compete, but for most applications the bottleneck will return to human capital capable of maximizing the clever utilization of the tech, rather than the tech itself. This can be seen across every technological advancement for hundreds of years.
I'm not sure how long this process will take, but one day the ROI on training new LLMs will run out and the bubble will pop. Many busy-work jobs will be decimated in the process.
