I used to post pictures of my white-footed kitty but she died suddenly last year so I stopped. The suddenness of her departure made me stop posting cat pictures. I like the pictures you post of your walked-in-white-paint kitties, but I still miss my little cat too much to post many pictures of the cats I currently have. I may resume doing that, eventually.

I used to work with a guy whose father was a dairy farmer. This was years before satellite imagery and all of that, and the old man could predict the weather based on wind direction, what clouds looked like and the temperature and relative humidity. I lost a cat due to the rabies vaccine - it caused fibrosarcoma at the injection site and I lost a good boy. Still miss the little fellow and vets look at me funny when I tell them that story.
My cats are indoor only and I am the only vector that could bring rabies to them. Last I checked I am rabies-free.

I smoked between the ages of 17 and 21. So that means I quit 54 years ago. But I found a sealed pack of Newports and boy howdy, did I tear into those lung stabbers! It's been a week and I have not resumed my habit, in fact, I think I will go for a run now. I like my lungs.

I had an old dog and I taught her all kinds of new tricks.
Later on I taught my 13 year old dog sign language - she had gone deaf and we still needed to communicate.
Now I am teaching my two 10 year old cats sign language. Cats can be trained, too!

Florence is a beautiful city - I highly recommend it. It is worth taking a tour of the Duomo and climbing the stairs up to the cupola, from which you can get a great view of the campanile.

I have known this woman for over 30 years and neither of her daughters talk to her. That strikes me as odd, so I asked her about that today. She said that her ex-husband turned them against her.
Well, I have been around for a while and I suspect that is part of the story. But there was no reason for me to pry or pester her. She is in a tight spot, for sure.
I have one son who will do what he can for me, but he lives far away. Which reminds me, I need to draft a new will and set up a trust for him and his family.

I rarely leave my house but this morning I took a road trip over to a neighboring county to visit a woman who has been living in a care facility for a couple of years. She's in rough shape, but healthy, if that makes sense. She could linger for years. That, to me, is a bleak prospect, but she is hanging in there.
Anyway, as I told another friend, maybe someone will come visit me when I am in the home. End of life issues are a serious concern for those of us of a certain age.
