funny thing about it. ive approved #deltachat #chatmail #arcanechat for use after our team audited the entire codebase. its now being used as our fallback communication system. prior signal was a backup. but no more.

no scruffy beard or suspenders here. i'm wearing diesel shoes, black t-shirt, baseball cap, and and i'm drinking coffee from a mysterious region in south america. bsd community i've had zero issues with. they are pretty fun and pragmatic people. meanwhile when i was using linux regularly it's like a battle of sparta vs persia via splitting-hair war.

look at it this way. your heart being a muscle only has so many contractions (similar to an engine giving out before it needs a rebuild). if you take stimulants, you accelerate the beat-counter. you don't have infinite beats.
if you're young (i don't like to guess), you may not worry about it now. but try doubling your age and see how it goes. sometimes better to establish good habits early.

confuses me sometimes when people go to great lengths to not purchase a phone with a credit-card. instead opting for cash, wearing a disguise, driving 50mi away from home so their opsec is maintained, activating it in the parking lot, no sim. great now you take it home and put it on your home wireless network and login to all your services that already know who you are.
i mean if you want to have a little distance, go pay cash in person. don't make a big thing of it. you're going to slip up trying to larp as snowden.
if you're still worried about things, ask a friend or random person off the street to put it on their credit card and hand them cash + tip. that's what i did long ago. i'm not driving 50mi to larp when i can do it from bed hah

i rely on others infra too. but its more so launch a vps and backhaul traffic to my old thinkcentre. well and dns i use desec. i think the types that go 100% in on their infra maybe sometimes don't understand how hard it can be to manage. most end up leaning on external services eventually. paranoia only takes you so far

i used it for a while. it was pretty nice. but its been so long. i prefer minimal and fast interfaces. that's what the i3 config gives me. albeit with a pinch of modern aesthetics.
