At a frame rate of about 1 per second (primitive by current standards) the plane travelled nearly 600 feet, considering the slow sequential readout of image sensors of that day, nothing would show.
A modern camera would be much more likely to pick it up, even a a slow frame rate because the readout is very fast... but this 25 years ago with CCD sensors.
Be realistic, if the WANTED to fake a plane crash, and went to all this trouble, don't you thing they would have pasted one in???
