That would be do-able but not prefered.
And to be clear, the saving of credentials is saved in a SQLite database on your server, not in browser, not in anywhere else. Which would be seen as alot more safe than localStorage or similar.
appsettings.json would be similar but then its not possible to "hot-change" your backend settings through the UI.
I could possible write it like if there is values in appsettings.json then it doesnt use db saved credentials..

You should first get viral with some interview, say something fun with an accent. Keep grinding sosome X followers, THEN launch a meme coin and funnel profits into bitcoin... preferably make sure your meme coin gets pre-sale sniped and then with a classic pump and dump scheme...

The base of all keypairs should be a seedphrase that can be imported between different apps.
that seed phrase can then generate different keypairs that could be used stand alone in for example amethyst/ primal / damus OR import seed phrase and chose account from that.

But I would say that the seed phrase should then generate a keypair, not just a npub.
Why? I maybe wanna be able to use my public profile in privacy focused apps as well.
One login for all contacts achieved publicly and then maybe another keypair derived from same seed for more private no history discussions.

since #nostr is a protocol you can't really tell it to stop do this and that.
the user base is obviously over represented by #bitcoin'ers.
so YOU do the job and get some more NPC regular people on here and the content will change.
but to be honest, the nostr protocol and the bitcoin protocol interact in such a beautiful way through zaps and npc people even though they don't give a shit about bitcoin still will be gagd with it since it simply works and is included in alot of nostr apps.

Obviously relays and and apps can get shut down..
The difference in shutting down Telegram vs. Nostr (the actual protocol) is that you shut down a centralized unit and users can't do shit with their data posted there after shutdown compared to shutting down Amethyst, people just login somewhere else with their key pair and it's all back.
The protocol lives and new simple self hosted protocol using apps can be built.
