I would say that inmates should not be the standard for the basic dignities that we should provide people. I don’t support criminality, but inmates are the only population where it is legal to violate human rights (eg voter disenfranchisement, forced labor). I agree that everyone should have access to food, shelter, and education. The money exists. We just have to care enough to do it.

The reality is that overall life expectancy is much higher now than when your great great grans was alive thanks to modern medicine. The goal should be to move more, eat more nutrient dense foods, and build healthy relationships to maximize your quality of life as you age. Asking about guns in the home is a question that medical professionals should be asking and have been asking for years. It has nothing to do with infringing on your 2nd amendment rights. Do it all the time for suicide risk assessments because access to firearms can increase the risk of suicide. Your health records are private and cannot be disclosed without your consent. You can also refuse to answer any questions that make you feel uncomfortable. People will be pissed about this law, but then ask why a mass shooter still had access to firearms despite certain things in their background.

Bitcoiners can only win over KYC exchanges if they create alternative products/services that address your concerns and are user friendly. As it stands now, KYC exchanges are one of the easiest ways for people to purchase and sell Bitcoin. They are not going away and will continue to grow and dominate unless a more viable alternative emerges. Most of the advantages of Bitcoin emphasized by Bitcoiners don’t resonate with everyday people who just want a currency that isn’t volatile, is widely accepted, and offers legal protection against fraud and theft.

Your post makes some interesting assumptions about human interaction. Our need for human interaction goes beyond economics. One of the greatest risk factors for dementia is a limited social network. We are not meant to be lone wolves by any stretch. Most people have empathy and do not approach relationships from a purely transactional perspective. If people received UBI and universal healthcare, then no one would care if AI made their livelihoods obsolete. Not working is only hardship because people cannot feed or house themselves without income.

I assume that you are a multimillionaire or billionaire who can build your own roads, hire your own personal security, pay out of pocket for all medical expenses, is not reliant on water or electricity provided by utility companies, etc. If you are not worth at least $100 million dollars, then prepare to become a serf once the IRS is abolished. I’m assuming that you are referring to formal education when you mention “top-down education”. Hands-on learning has always been a key focus at high-quality academic institutions. Formal education or degrees/certifications are not necessary for success, do not indicate intellectual superiority, but they are not useless either. I have thoughts on why certain people, groups, and/or political ideologies attack formal education and do not want the public to pursue higher education, but Nostr is not the space where people would be interested in or receptive to that discussion.
