Sure... For the gig it was a bit more complex than for the radio.
The morning radio show, I have a mic going to a pre-amp, then an analogue compressor which goes to an analogue mixing desk (Soundcraft GB2), where the turntable and sound FX also get mixed, the stereo out goes to my main audio interface.
For the band stream, Abi's voice was going through the same analogue pre-amp and compressor but instead of going to the desk, it went to a different laptop I use for gigs running Ableton and a bunch of outboard effects (Boss RE-20, Warm Audio ring mod, Ninja Zen Delay and a Rigsmith spring reverb) via a MOTU Ultralite interface. All the dubbing effects were happening there, then a stereo out from the MOTU into the desk feeding the computer handling the stream.
A little bit complicated but totally doable. Also, it really helped us being on headphones, I could heavily process the voice without any risk of feedback, although on the radio show I'm listening on speakers.
The mic chain is a Beta 58 mic, Camden Audio 500 mic pre, IGS Audio 576 Blue Stripe compressor.
I like having the analogue compressor before the audio goes into the computer, I actually really dug the tone on Abi's vocal with that set up... I've typically been using a more expensive studio mic for vocal recording but I think the next tracks I'll use that set up instead, it's a little distorted but in a way I like.
Cracks me up that most podcasts use a Shure SM7 (or a cheaper copy) for podcasts, for no other reason than they've seen it on other podcasts. An SM58 is fine and costs waaaaaayyyyy less.
Bit of a long post but happy to break anything down if my writing's not clear.
