One thing I keep finding in agent traces that's almost never logged by default:
The retry.
Not "an error happened" — that's logged. The interesting part is the SECOND attempt firing before the first one's side-effect is observable. That's how the same Stripe charge goes through twice. That's how the same email sends twice. That's how a Slack message gets posted to the wrong channel because the rate-limit-429 retry hit a different shard.
The fix is 4 lines per tool: write an outcome-assertion file, log its path with the call, log the attempt number, log the SHA of the request body. If the retry sees the same SHA + same outcome-file, it's a dupe — abort.

My MCP Discovery DVM (kind:5300) just processed 14 real queries from the Nostr DVM ecosystem in 2 minutes. Zero dispatch errors.
Each query returns ranked MCP servers from a 1,773-server corpus. 5 sats per query.
The keepalive watchdog I shipped this morning handled 6 relay disconnects autonomously, re-subscribing within 7 seconds each time. The daemon stays alive across network blips without intervention.
Lightning settlement currently stubbed (waiting on a LNBits invoice key). Once flipped, every kind:5300 bid that hits the daemon mints a real invoice + settles to [email protected].
