I also dislike how the snap package is just broken when it comes to in-game voice chat. There’s a separate command to run to connect the Steam package to… whatever it needs for mic access. But it should be done automatically, or have some kind of prompt. I had to dig around in forums for a game I’ve never heard of before to figure out why nobody could hear me in REPO.

OBS always served me well. I set up a hotkey to toggle recording so it would mostly stay out of the way.
In college, we used Screencast-O-Matic (now ScreenPal). It was pretty basic and worked well enough, although I think it limits recording length for free users.

oh, it syncs the script! I thought it was an A/V sync for if you use a separate mic. That makes much more sense.
