Notice that all the pictures on the page you linked are taken on beautiful sunny days on high-located places without obstacles.
It is a nice gadget, good for the geekies.. just not really something you'll really use outside videos for instagram/youtube. Meshtastic has been criticized enough for holding back development on this topic if you ever pass long time inside the community.
You can receive LoRa on your backyard from 2000 kilometers away: https://tinygs.com/
But trust me that it won't really work for more than 100 meters inside a forest, with buildings or foggy/rainy days. I've tried it for months, maintained ground stations (which get damaged in less than a year). One thing is theory, the other is practice.

In the old days you'd just rate-throttle them until.
Relays can refuse new accounts to post/like more than 10 texts per day until they reach 100 "likes" on their texts from qualified accounts on the WoT and have been around here for more than a month.
It isn't hard to break for hard-bend spammers, would still reduce substantially their entry and promote users to participate at the same time.

Thumbs up whenever possible to use reticulum. The obstacle is that it still won't solve the issue. Underneath reticulum the same IP addresses are used, therefore easy to bring down the relays.
TOR or similar VPN are still needed to keep the node safe. These nodes are already acting as VPN that isolate messages from the user IP addresses but I'm still in doubt how to make them reasonably untraceable even if slower.

After that starts the route to "improve" Damus and for example introduce recommended relays to prevent "porngraphy" or some other excuse for our safety. You'll ever forget to improve critical features that users will beg you for years to implement.
Repeat this for other promissing clients, after a few years nostr will still be an exotic plaything whereas bluesky, mastodon and similar walled gardens will shine as champions for democracy, equality and human rights. Monero releases yearly 0,66% new coins on the market to assure everyone with a normal computer without graphic cards still has a fair chance to mine them. This ensures normal people maintaining the network get rewarded for mining. It isn't a big drama, it was a design decision to reward home-based miners.
You won't mine your fedcoin, you won't even bother to run a node. All of that is done at some chinese farm or whatever commercial groups approved by local governments. Your goal here is to see "store of value" and "money goes up" like any other jewish guy.

In 99% of the apps it will be a valid nsec when the decoded string is matched to begin with text "nsec". That is the confirmation you need to know that the decoding without salt went OK.
The vector of attack is to use a large dictionary of known user-typed password against an encrypted nsec without salt nor using the hex version.

btw, nostr should be listed on post-blockchain. It is technology built to survive a zombie apocalypse. When the internet is gone, small places with the remaining local networks will still be using nostr apps fairly OK to send notes and other stuff to each other.

It's OK if you like bitcoin, but please understand that it is a transparent coin without privacy. This means that any transactions and even your wallet contents are available for everyone to see and monitor.
This means for example when the Canada protest accepted donations that the State went straight after the donors.
Bitcoin is not used since years for any meaningful financial transaction where a State wants to repress. Everyone has moved to Monero years ago because it delivers that needed privacy.
Please learn the difference, your privacy and indepence very well depend on this.

On our app, nsec get encrypted through a user-defined password that is only stored in memory and never to disk.
In case of leak, you'd need the passwords to make decrypt them. It is also possible to add salt on them to make extra difficult to decrypt by bruteforcing, however, this kind of step isn't implemented yet.

I've wrote the feedback straigth from the app. It is strange why it doesn't work on that phone. I've deleted the cache, tried different combinations of being logged and not logged but it never shows any apps.
It is left on a permanent status of updating the list but never getting out that loop. Other than that, I find zap.store to be the future app of choice.
When looking at other alternatives like aptoide or f-droid, this one permits zapping which is a very simple way to reward developers or maintainers based on tips. The other part is privacy, making it wasy to publish apps and install them without giving away privacy.
As far as I can, I will be supporting zap.store

It's more than a decade old, basically replaced bitcoin in the dark markets many years ago. Fees for payments are cheap (about 2 cent or less).
It used to be really easy to buy it on the street or exchanges, recently the governments closed down https://localmonero.co and forced the exchages to delist it (at the time even forced to fire the CEO of binance for refusing to do it).
The currency is mostly popular in Europe, Latin America, Africa and Arab countries because it could be mined with any old computer instead of expensive GPU or ASIC machines that only a few could afford.
If you want to receive large funds and pay privately in real world things, then monero is the coin that is used.
Trying out is a matter of downloading the wallet on your desktop: https://www.getmonero.org/ or installing something lke CakeWallet on Android.
To exchange dollars or euros for Monero is more difficult at the moment. The takedown happened two months ago, might take a bit until new methods start to popup. In either case, always good to learn about it.

MD5 is also cryptography. You wouldn't remember since you seem young, but once upon the time we'd see governments to keep promoting MD5 as a secure encryption mechanism despite all our warnings that it wasn't.
We just moved forward to SHA1 and nowadays SHA256.
Same thing with bitcoin, just moved forward to Monero already years ago.
And yes, I do know a few things about crypto and its roots. Was mining BTC and still with CPU back in 2009. You weren't there at the forums, you weren't there at the BBS. You really miss the point why we pushed for a crypto currency in the true sense of that word rather than settling for an MD5 equivalent fedcoin.

It was some time ago. Basically monero doesn't require graphic cards nor ASIC and anyone with an old computer can mine, so it was being mined in public institutions around Venezuela, and is also used to privately send money from US/Europe to family members there.
Basically their economy collapsed and monero is difficult to censure/track by authorities.

Don't get me wrong, profit and whatnot is always good. The point is that you can also do money with Forex. There are reasons beyond the "value goes up" argument to use cryptocurrency. The most important is the root of the word "crypto" which means in latin to keep hidden, private.
When it isn't hidden nor private, it is just a casino coin or a virtual coin. But it certainly isn't a cryptocoin on the true sense of the word.

Fantastic. Basically we can specify any source for the installer. Maybe as idea instead of just YAML to add support for a scripting language that can perform more actions?
In some cases, for example on Organic Maps they don't include the offline maps. So they need to be downloaded from their servers, which might not be always be available because of no internet or server is down. In those cases we have to manually copy the files after installation, but with a scripted approach we can program copying files from the installation folder onto the final location.

I'm writing this as someone who actually mined bitcoin using only CPUs back in 2009. If you are in crypto for the sake of privacy and freedom, this is what we should be supporting rather than casino virtual coins.

There is a solution that assures privacy and freedom. It is used widely on the streets since years and it is NOT bitcoin.
At this moment the only ones still promoting BTC are 1) maxis because of speculation, 2) naive people that know nothing else and 3) government-compromissed entities. Very sus from protonmail.
Everyone else minimally informed has zero problems or worries with monero, transactions and holdings are simply private beyond doubt.

Hello @nprofile…hhpd , I've created a new account on primal but by default I'm unable to post or "like". Is it because I didn't verified the account?
On coracle.social the same account works great but I prefer to keep using primal. I've checked the relays on primal and looks OK.
What is missing here to make the account work?
