It's been a while since I made a creosote bundle. Got an order in yesterday and checked in on a few of these beautiful plants
The creosote bushes are lush and aromatic after all the summer rain we had. Perfect for bundling.
Some customers love hanging these in the shower, so the steam will smell like desert rain 🌧️
I like to let a bundle dry and use it to smudge. Burning it also helps to repel mosquitos 🔥

Cold mornings are reminding me that winter is coming fast in this little patch of desert. We won't see much snow, but I am still often surprised by how much the temperatures drop when the sun goes down
I love the feeling of our juniper hydrosol to cleanse my face in the morning, a plant known for it's warming and purifying qualities. The only ingredients used to make this hydrosol spray are juniper branches foraged from Southern New Mexico and distilled water

Making a spray that smells like desert rain 🩵
I love the beauty of distilling fresh herbs in our copper alembic. The copper is a traditional material for making hydrosols and also improves the scent by segregating sulfate compounds

These products are birthed on our 40 acres of land in Southern Arizona. We've been here just over a year and this summer was much wetter than last. Recently, the desert has bloomed with at least a dozen plants that are new for me to identify.
I am always pulled in by the nightshades, so here is a little spotlight (one of these is making it's way into a massage oil 😉)
My first time meeting a wild tomatillo!
And now a datura plant is getting ready to bloom at our doorstep 💚
