The thing is that albeit there is no central server to seize, they will go after each and every server where the note is hosted.
As long as they can identify the note, it will be easy to chase wherever it was publicly hosted.
One thing you might consider is sharing images with text inside them (stenography) that can be rehashed to other (meme) images and this way make really hard to chase/discover where those texts are hosted.

Thank you. I've found the repository at https://github.com/marmot-protocol/whitenoise and will later study how to integrate inside geogram.
For the moment the geogram private messages are really private since they are hosted directly inside the devices of users, rather than untrusted devices. But I'm quite sure we'll need this at some point.

Most people moving to south america on dire conditions won't survive for long. Life is hard down there, even for those who know the language and keep family ties.
Portugal/Spain (Iberia) wouldn't be crowded. There is plenty of space and places to walk over the border (a whole mountain range). My recommendation is to look around Asturias.
Plan B should mean you keep surviving. Vacations are helpful to meet people, build connections and get to know locations before you are in trouble. For example, last week I've drove all the way from Germany to Portugal mostly because I want to be familiar with the route. To know the directions and particularities before I really need them.

Distance makes it incredibly difficult. My recommendation is took at Iberia. Distant enough from any war, cheap enough for properties in the forest and reachable enough to go back and forth between other european countries. English is still OK across european territories.

At NOSTR would already be a success if they switch from fedcoins to monero since those folks love binary choices.
I'm personally a fan of BEAM and SIGNA because of their technology. Other than that, truly depends on what you want to use crypto for.
On my future scenario there is a high-probability that even the internet is disconnected at my region, so anything with a blockchain is useless at that point. So we built a simple wallet based on debt, where 2 people (+ witnesses if desired)digitally sign a debt between each other and can even transfer a portion of that debt to others.
In a scenario where people lose everything: there is no crypto, no fiat nor conventional assets to rebuild the economy at a community. But one specific asset remains available to most people without posessions: time.
So we adopt time as a currency because it is easy to apply on the real world when everything else isn't available. For example: "You work on the fields for 5 hours and that is my debt that you can redeem later when the crop grows". Or specialized work that follows a ratio decided between both parties: "I'll give 1 hour as mechanic and you give me 4 hours for general work"
There is more to this story, but my recommendation is to look at payment methods outside fiat or crypto altogether. The ones that exist today are good enough, but what might happen tomorrow in the remote chance of war everywhere is where I think more people should be looking right now.

The ideal thing is that you keep one of these on top of a rooftop and then use bluetooth to get messages on the watch or phone.
At the moment the network that I see with most potential is APRS because it connects text messages from walkie-talkies, these LoRa devices and anyone who has an internet connection. So fairly good to connect people everywhere.

It isn't. That was an awful project which ignored basic requests and code contributions for several years that would have made it usable.
The moment that meshcore was released last year, almost everyone jumped away from that awful project.
For your information, LoRa only permits a few text messages per hour. It is not capable for sharing pictures, files nor voice.
Plus, when more people use LoRa on the same region than the frequency quickly gets crowded and you are not even able to send those few text messages. This has happened again last month in Portugal during the floods. Everybody with LoRa wanted to send messages and the more crowded it was, the more people insisted on sending messages.
So, it failed even on the scenario it was meant to be useful. It is a good toy, but really far below bluetooth, WiFi and radio walkie talkies.

It's going to hurt. Families completely messed up (again). All of that until you learn that LN is quite traceable with the right tools, which are easy to purchase on state-level.
Before you call me a fan boy for monero, just note that I was one of the first people mining that fedcoin back in 2009 with very similar beliefs to yours. That was the reason why we pushed it up on the first place.
Merchant adoption should never be an argument, otherwise we'd all use paypal. Economic density is debatable, since there are factually more daily real transactions happening on the monero blockchain than that fedcoin because real people do use it on the streets.
If you'd know me better, you'd see I pass quite some time researching newer technologies and supporting people that build them. Monero delivers everything that was dreamed from a crypto but isn't the only game in town. You'd find me more often being a fan for BEAM (tokens on top of a private chain) or SIGNA (not private) because the concept of mining with disk space rather GPUs is quite something special for me.
Do your own research. I couldn't care less about whichever crypto is used, but we should care when people will get persecuted because it lacks privacy.

For my scenario in ten years there isn't even internet, therefore blockchains are out of the picture.
I've wrote a cryptographically signed method based on units of time and digitally verifiable debts.
Not sure if you are interested, this was a topic from the NOSTR-02 in Coimbra where in such scenario the Internet is gone but cellphones are still plenty.
So two people "without money" still have at minimum time and a few possessions. The wallet permits both phones to sign events with time (e.g. I worked ten hours for you) and to mark when they got paid (both sides get a receipt). We thought hard on the topic and time was the most intuitive and consistent measure of effort.
To cut the conversation short: for survival you need basic stuff like food, friends, protection and off-grid tech. That we build quite well on our own and won't be dependent on monero nor fedcoins.

LN is a token technology available to any other crypto so that point of "fast transactions" is moot when any other crypto can literally enjoy the same tech.

If you'd be in Germany that is a quick test and be done with it, don't remember the cost but os about 50 euros.
Online you can take it from providers in California (English language) for about 5 USD, plus a registration on the FCC for 35 USD.

There are good crypto technologies out there that seldom get attention.

Checksums are only used to guaranteed that what they copied and place on the website is the same that you download and install on your machine.
The source can be compiled with additional code, the checksum on their site includes the checksum of that modified version and we wouldn't be able to know better.

Yep. Notice that neither of them tend to lie. Their words are carefully to chosen to say truths while ommiting critical aspects that will mislead those who don't know better, so more of "half-truths" than reality.
They wouldn't be able to "discover" monero even if there wouldn't be any other choice left. To be quite frank, anyone that looks informed on this topic and doesn't support monero is likely paid to ignore it.

You are missing the point. They can show whatever they want on the open source repositories, there are zero verifiable guarantees that same code is the one used for compiling the binary you are running on your phone.
Then they'll argue: "compile yourself the code" and you know what? Only 0.00000000001% of the users would ever do that.
It is irrelevant to find evidence when all technical methods are there today to easily overcome encryption for a tool sponsored tens of million USD by the US government every single year even before it was launched to market.

More bullshit about "signal", there is more evidence that it is NOT secure than otherwise.
Being open source is not a guarantee at all, considering there is zero verification that the servers or clients are running the same code presented as open source.
Furthermore, those encryption algorithms are perfectly useless when it is easy for that app to send your private credentials back to their servers.
These are basic facts, seeing them being ignored so consistently is indeed suspicious.

There is some confusion here. Large platforms do need to filter their content according to age and do it all the time.
Governments have rules for that as well that apply to large sites, nothing of what I've said is novelty. It already is in practice and parents keep having a large role in following what their children do.
The topic here was the age verification itself and how this is being abused.

From the article, it might indeed boost range. Before doing modifcations, can I ask to test the range outdoors between of them in mesh?
The ones I got were with external antenna already available, their range was about 900 meters with Line Of Sight (LoS) and a clear day, but installing on the street would say about 300 meters between them with LoS for a good quality connection.
The cost was about 3.5 euros per unit.

LineageOS and other Android distros support dozen of Android and decrapify the spyware inside.

All of that without privacy nor assurance it really gets there. A complicated and crappy system that fails more often than not because of its instability.
With monero last year was hundreds of million USD while hunted by western governments without a breeze.
