People ask me why I didn't just wait for a distributor. Somebody would have bought it eventually.

Amen to that. Direct democracy was America’s founding strength. Our military-imperial potential, which even Washington himself warned against, was our founding flaw. This culminated with Eisenhower’s warning against the military-industrial complex. When he wrote Democracy in America, Alexis de Tocqueville visited the country and saw democratic processes happening in town hall meetings in places like Vermont — direct, unmediated, human. When I started this film, I basically figured Bitcoin was a pyramid scheme. I'm not embarrassed to say I fell prey to the same kind of curated propaganda that people are also fed about Julian Assange.
