I like nostr because it doesn't have all the bullshit from mainstream social media. So if it growth to this point, that I start loosing hours of my life scrolling endless marketing and not generated content, I will stop using it as well.

Impressive. Would be fine with that if quality is good enough. My Hermes agent using TEE cloud model llama 120B is not really clever, I cannot afford such setup right now but could consider it if I could increase my productivity enough to justify the cost, especially on private informations and documents (like giving a local model acces to all my paperless documents and my accounting, which I would never do with a cloud model, even TEE one.

I hate it, and recognize them from 100m away, fake pizza, fake ice cream, fake t-shirt illustration, fake people in front of fake landscape showing fake expressions...
I find them so creepy and feel like these business just want to sell me something fake.
I'm even resistant to use any AI for blog or article illustration, I feel fake myself when using it but I get why many do, it's so easy, fast and cheap and if you don't, you get crush by the one using them because they are faster and looking better to most people.

Because I tried using the background service for some days but had to stop as it was hammering my battery like crazy. Now Yakihonne give me the notifications (I guess using GMS as I still have Play Services) and I open Amethyst to check (because I still prefer your client otherwise).

For sure it's a bubble. They are overselling non profitable products that doesn't exist yet as advertised. Sure it will not stop, AI is here to stay, but the value we are projecting to it and these myriad of companies coming out of nowhere will not survive indefinitely. Like the internet bubble there will be some big winners and many losers.
The most important question, when it will burst, what will be taken down with it ? All tech stocks will suffer, even the one not related to AI and what about Bitcoin ? It will also take a hit (I mean in term of fiat price, it will still work perfectly fine) which make no sense directly but it's like that with so many clueless investor in the boat via ETF, MSTR and shit.

I know someone working at the national movies preservation institute (local name is different but it cannot be translated), anf he showed me the rooms full of old films recorded on cellulose nitrate, highly inflatable film that they have to keep in cooled, anti spark, fire proof rooms anf still deteriorate with time. They have equipements to digitalize these but only limited ressources and time to do it, so it's a matter of deciding which one to copy in priority.
The cool stuff is that they also store 35mm movies and project them regularly in the oldest theater in the city (if not country). It was magical to see some old movies in that format on a big screen, like Lost In Translation, Gremlins and soon will be E.T.

I bought a 2TB external SSD to migrate a Bitcoin node but it stopped working after cloning for a few hours, it crashed like at 98% so I must assume all node information are on it and don't dare to send it to repair. Now it must br worth much more than when I bought about one year ago. Warranty is 5 years so I was thinking to close all channels and migrate to a new node but it works pretty find and have good reputation so I didn't do it yet...

I didn't understood your hate for it first, it's making Bitcoin finally easy to use, then I saw this video, supposedly promoting it, but showing how much crap it is, the complete opposite of Bitcoin values.

What merchants use to accept Bitcoin the proper way. It also allows to have Lightning Address, user accounts, boltcards (contactless Lightning Bitcoin payment cards), do swap for fiat or Lightning to on-chain...
A lot of use case and supposedly the most advanced and serious open source app for these use cases. Good that they patch so fast, too bad that many node OS have delay for updates (some times weeks or a month late...).

They fucked up with the wrong Bitcoiner.
It's too late for him, her, they. Even if they would decide to return the money, they could not do it. Sending back to the original address would just let someone else steal it, and as anyone is able to get the private keys eventually, it would be very hard to prove that you were the original owner of the key. If you control the previous address in the chain you would still have to prove that you didn't sell the bigcoins to the owner of the hacked address. Ironically, those who withdrew directly from a KYC exchange to the leaked address could claim it somehow. But anyone unless it happens, there is no reason to talk about it.
Is there any insurance cover Bitcoin thief in self custody ? I think I have seen such service once, wondering if they had a close in case of massive "bug" or hack like this to exclude it from the coverage.

There are still use cases, it should theoretically still be able to keep safe a properly generated key, verify and sign. And the Q has also some interested dev and fun use cases, still not worth for the price and trust will be lost forever. I don't see how they could recover from it, but Trezor and Ledger both had reputation issues and still survived. Was not as bad still.

You better use Sparrow, Electrum or a reputable signing device than a shell scripts prompt to mistake that you figure out year later you didn't use standard derivation or worst use a bigger script and end up stacking sats in limbo for year. Still better to check the setup with multiple softwor hardware thus, chances a random Bitcoiner doing is own script do a mistake is still way higher than chances of a (formerly) reputable company with many engineers and open source code checked by anyone did a mistake, let's be realistic.

You can generate your mnemonic phrase of 12 words by hand with dice but you still need a signing device or a "wallet" like Sparrow or Electrum (Tails OS booted on an old offline PC is a good option for that) to derive a private key and address to get an utxo. Then yes you don't need anything else to just keep the bitcoin, make sure your backup your mnemonic phrase and passphrase somewhere safe from thief or destruction.

This is so fucked up at every levels. I had little trust in some companies before, most I had zero trust already, but now I think I will trust no single companies or person in Bitcoin (and crypto) that could potentially, in the slightly possible way, get any additonnal profit out of a lie. Which leave almost nobody, maybe some non-lucrative fondation, and even so.
Anyone selling physical products related to Bitcoin/crypto/personal finance, should do everything possible to not store any data in the first place, or I cannot trust it. Make Bitcoin payement the only option, make delivery to locker or third party pickup location the only option, and pickup must no et require an ID, just a confirmation code or something not personal.
But I guess it's almost impossible.
I'm seriously thinking about doing a buiness of decoy mailbox, name, forwarder address, phone forwarder, to preserve more the customer privacy, but then how to run it without getting any personal information and without the customers need to trust you... It will be hard, probably even illegal in many countries, but not 100% impossible.

I love my #Keychron keyboard and would love to have a mouse with same Linux support but their mouse have not enough buttons for me, I'm spoiled by my Logitech G502 and programmed every bouton for optimized daily use + alternative configuration for gaming. It would be hard to come back. Piper allows to reprogram the mouse on Linux but it's not always saving changes properly.
