On https://boltcard.org/ in the FAQ they list several vendors. You need NXP NTAG424 to program them as boltcards and pay contactless with Bitcoin (from your LNbits instance or BTCPay Server).
I got my cards from ZIPNFC, you can get just the tag on a sticker. But compare to simple NFC tag they are not cheap, close to 1$ each.

I agree, but then miners could be coerced to censor some type of transactions or transactions to and from a given "blacklist" of address. But even if the largest commercial miners could be corrupted, there is still chances to get mined by a free and independent (solo) miner, or one that is under another juridiction and not affected/threatened.
At worst it will slow down targeted users.

Yeah, there is this username function that allow to use it without sharing is phone number, so you could get a separate SIM number for registering Signal and other apps that is not the same as for communicating.
But this username is not like a long term identity, it can be changed anf lost forever and possibility takeover by someone else (as I understand).
Best app without phone number, without account, without central server is Briar. There is also Threema, Simple X or even a lot of nostr based messenger app.
But the problem of any messenger app without contact discovery via phone number is that adoption stays extremely low. You must actively coordinate with each contact to decide on the app to use and share your username/session keys to start communicating.
Who is doing that anymore ? Long ago is the time of AIM, MSN messenger and ICQ where people who do such effort to continue communicating online. Now people want thing to work our of the box, suggest contacts to them and stays where they are most attracted by the most adicitve algorithm.

I like to read books on the principle but I'm a slow reader, I need ofter to re-read a sentence or paragraph because I didn't understood or was thinking side ways, so when someone kills a book of 300+ page in a day or 2, I need a couple of week minimum at 1-2h a day, and that's the maximum amount of free, focused time, I could get in most days and I have hundred of others projets and entertainment I want to spend this free time on, so book is offer not at the top of the list, like one of these long video games (Zelda, GTA,...) that you never start because you know you have not 100+ hours to spend for it in the following weeks.
But right now I started a 400 page SciFi book, it's quite good, I'm 120pages into it after a week more or less. Let's hope I can make through it.

Cashu zap UX is so much better. 2 clicks to setup, instant zap, no third party app or service needed on user side. It should be the default and we should also have option to send cashu to Lightning and receive from Lightning to cashu.

Households with kids and both parents working full-time is slowing down ? It's more like we are pushed into it while it should be norm to have one parent working full and the other taking car of the family. This latter is slowing down for sure.
You mean we are more heading to 80/40 or 70/50, to have more than one income but both at reduced rate ? It's nice when both have similar income but when one earn twice more, 100/0 must shift to 80/60 or 80/80 to really increase the income and stay competitive (mostly on terms of housing affordability). Which is super sad.
Working 80% is slavery, you get 20% income but but you produce almost as much as 100% while not having much improvement on your life.
Ideal workload should be around 60% with 75-80% of a full time income. Efficiency would be close to the same from the employees if not more as their private life would br greatly improved and with enough free time for himself and to give back to society in another way.

If you have strange issues with @nprofile…wywf like long time following profile without any name or info, NWC not working and other weird stuff happening. Uninstall the app and reinstall fresh, reconnect your accounts with Amber. I hesitate to do it, by fear to loosing all settings but everything was restored (unlike in older versions), including emojis picked and amounts of sats in zap menu. And all bugs were resolved.
Don't be stupid like me and reinstall as soon as it's getting buggy. Hopefully I don't have to do it too often, but here I got Amethyst for years without reinstall, could be possible that all updates create the bugs.

Not sure what's going on with @nprofile…wywf right now but I have many people I follow that have no profile information visible, only the default robot and npub. In the relays list I have a bunch of relays for indexing and searching, all with 60-80% uptime (by the way, I don't understood why uptime are so low on nostr, it should be 99%+).

Gameboy color, N64, iMac, maybe the DualShock controller were official release. The wiimote and PSP I'm not sure.
But I agree, in general tech are lacking nice color options, not a fan of Apple anymore but at least they dare to release a full orange high hand smartphone, just bad it's the only bright color option. >90% of the tech is in a miserable black /gray/white colors only. Sad.

In Switzerland the largest cinema theater chain that acquired a quasi monopoly by buying small theater and closing them down, started charging a fee for each movie booking transactions, online by card, in theater by card or cash, it's 1 CHF (a bit more than 1 USD) per booking.
It's illegal in Switzerland and they know it. A claim has been opened but the maximum fine for such violation is just a few hundreds thousand Swiss franc while it's estimated they charged already more than a millions from this fee, probably multimillions by the time court settle everything.
Thank you government for protecting us, glad we pay tax for such service.

It's 128bytes of data but 2 or 3 were not usable as I remember. I could not for lightning:LNURLxxxx in full but I could for the raw LNURL so it's not opening automatically in a wallet but if you can read it and know what it is, you can past the LNURLw in your Lightning wallet.
I didn't try to write 12 words of a mnemonic phrase, maybe it could works 12x4 is much lower than 128bytes even with space, but it would again not opening directly in a wallet.

I have been testing wallets to select the best one to onboard no-coiners at local meetups but it turned out as a nightmare. Firet they are way too many wallet out there to choose and not even one is close enough to be user friendly for a newbie. You talk about Bitcoin but then the Phoenix wallet talk about Lightning and worse, ask you to pick one option while paying without explaining what it means.
Other like BlueWallet through at you a mnemonic phrase to backup on second screen before you can even do anything, hard to make it more scary to a new comer.
Zeus is just a huge mess with so many questions and leaving default end up with ecash and mint to choose from, with zero option to get you first bitcoins from an onchain transaction.
And I'm not talking about the ones that want your phone number to start or the one showing the Bitcoin symbol for sats...or absolute worst, the one with 20 Bitcoin layer to choose from.

I put some sats on this used nfc metro ticket, I had to strip down the data to the bare minimum because of the limited size but a clever Bitcoiner should be able to retrieve it. Will drop it at the bar during next Bitcoin meetup.

Not bad. BlueWallet is very good, I didn't feel a need for a redesign, thus it might help for adoption.
But let's be honest, a large part of BlueWallet success was for the custodial Lightning wallet (service) offered. When they removed it, the communication around it was so poorly made that many people though they were stopping complete support of the wallet.
What would bring support back would be the return of custodial Lightning in the form of ecash cashu with choice of any public mint available (like in Zeus).

Amazing that it's done on the complete laptop, not just on keyboard or keys alone.
Framework might need that as they recently add shipping to Switzerland but without Swiss Keyboard layout available.
But honestly I would prefer to have laptops with interchangeable keycaps like a serious desktop mechanical keyboard.
