Mitch McConnell finally proved he is alive, but he is really trying to downplay his medical scare.
The official release is that he only had a mild fall and a touch of pneumonia.
I'm sure they want you to forget the news report concerning him needing CPR. I am also sure they're hoping you don't notice that the medical bed he is in is in the upright position helping him sit up for the photo.

Today I learned Mozilla discontinued 32-bit Linux releases September 2025 https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2025/09/05/firefox-32-bit-linux-support-to-end-in-2026/

Mozilla Firefox is still here.
In May 2026, Firefox's market share sat at a dismal 2.19%. On the verge of plunging below 2%, it had essentially become a niche browser, no longer a mainstream browser.
Then Google, in their infinite foolishness and under the guise of better privacy, broke countless browser extensions — particularly ad blockers.
By June 2026, Firefox's market share rebounded to 3.33%. It’s not a massive victory, but it’s enough to still qualify as mainstream.

The last time I had matching download and upload speeds was when I was a dial-up customer.
Think about that.
It took decades for me to finally have matching speeds again, thanks to fiber-optic internet, because all of our broadband providers who offered DSL and Cable Internet convinced everyone it was normal to have limited access with poor uploads and sometimes even data caps.
I just hope in the future fiber-optic internet doesn't one day decide to repeat history.

The smart move is always to buy an AC greater than your needs.
For example, if your goal was to cool a single room with the door closed, and the room was 5,000 square feet, buy an AC that can cool 8,000 square feet.
The AC is not going to power on as often because it is designed for a room twice the size. It's going to cool that room in minutes, and when it turns on as needed, it will only power on in short bursts. Your AC will last longer and use less power overall.

The secret to keeping your place cool is that at night, no matter how cool it gets, keep your AC on Cool with the fan on Low. You want that low speed so the air passing through gets truly cool. Then, during the day, set the AC to Auto/Low/Eco, and it will turn on only when needed.
The added bonus is if you have a fan that can tilt upward, place it by the AC, tilt it toward the ceiling (about 60 degrees) in the direction of the rest of the house, and set it on Low. This will circulate the air.

Normally, every day I pull up the window shades to let light into the house and close them at sunset.
Today, I think I'll keep the shades closed and sit in the darkened room since I managed to get my house cool.

Worse still, they have also issued a poor air quality warning advising everyone to limit their exposure to the air outside or remain in doors.

On September 28, 2023, someone else joined the Fediverse (@npub19vu…g5yh). Because they like foxes, they also use the same avatar, but they are not me. No single user owns the rights to the avatar, as it is based on the old public fox emoji (originally from Twemoji 2.3).
However, we have occasionally been mistaken for the same person, particularly since I have moved my account a couple of times. But it should be known, we're two different people, and not the same person.

I do not plan on retiring my Google 7 until at least Google Pixel 12 (5 years/generations from purchase). By then I will have a better practical understanding of how locked down Android has become and can decide if I will stick with Android or consider a true alternative — a Linux phone.
