So Farage couldn't go to the count because of security - but the poll workers and other candidates went. And the police said they hadn't warned any candidate away.
Just a reminder that people who can't laugh at themselves make terrible, terrible leaders.

Here's the deal - I regularly get into arguments with family and friends on these things. I'm not popular at parties. I don't honestly like going out because arguments like these are exhausting so I don't go out as much.
If you're white and you don't have these sorts of discussions where you call out racist, sexist xenophobic crap, you're just not doing the work.
And yes. It sucks. It sucks to be That Guy. But other things suck worse.

Hey #Ireland, might not be a bad time to write your TDs and tell them we need to do something soon to reduce the impact of energy and food costs. And removing fuel taxes isn't it. Increasing grants for solar PV installs - and more battery storage, encouraging people to move to EVs, insulation grants. Anything to reduce energy usage and to help make existing wind power useful will help. And honestly, doing something to get as much wind power online as quickly as possible.

London, UK has a murder rate of 1.2 per 100,000.
West Palm Beach, Florida, USA has a murder rate of 8 per 100,000.
Seems to me the mayor of London is doing a better job running his city than the mayor running the city closest to Mar a Lago. Mayby instead of talking ignorant shit about London's mayor, Trump should call him up to learn how to run a city.

The US has a long history of putting roadblocks for minorities to keep them from accessing government services. I think it's wild folks think minorities get loads of welfare in the US.

It's fantastic! I found out about @npub12lk…m57q from @npub1dml…x796 and I've been using it for the past four months. I'm getting close to retirement and I have a bunch of open source projects I want to work on. VimWiki is my goto tool for organising all that. It's been amazing.
If Veronica or the VimWiki devs aver find themselves in Ireland with a fierce thirst on themselves, the pints are on me!

Russia is moving its bombers away from Ukraine to within 500km of the US.
Just in case European leaders have any questions about who the Russians do and don't fear. Might want to ponder that when considering what the NATO membership list should look like.

Working from home is a massive climate benefit and a massive benefit for cities with poor public transit systems. It takes loads of cars off the road which reduces emissions and traffic. It blows my mind that we want to throw that away.
