Once AI crashes, we surely will get the next idiotic idea that everyone with technical knowledge knows makes no sense and has no market, but sounds futuristic enough for speculators to gamble other people's money with.
My bet is on Quantum computing. We had it before, but it didn't become a huge financial fraud bubble and known to everyone as a total scam.

Definitely. Not every field is just like any other.
Melitopol is the one huge weak point in the entire system. If the troops in Kherson and Crimea can be cut of from the train line and highway, everything west of it is on immediate life support. (Or rather, off it.)
But I'm not sure what that will mean for the Donbas. I don't see the Russian just retreating back behind the border, and with a massively shortened front, they might be much more able to hold it for a long time.

I think the Ukrainians have the patience and discipline not to charge ahead blindly at every breakthrough and end up in the same position as the initial Russian invasion force, with unsecured flanks and no real supply lines.
I expect the territory to be taken back in bites, not all at once. With time taken to secure what has been gained and get things organized for the next step before moving on.
But the pace at which that happens is impossible to predict.

At some point, things will be happening much quicker than anyone can keep up with. Like the last two times the Ukrainians made huge advances. But I have doubts they will just sweep through everything in one go.
But I think it's quite likely that we'll see big pushes like the Kharkiv and Kherson offensives with increasing frequencies over the next 12 months.

I am making my first character model for my game and I am actually really surprised and happy with how well this has turned out.
But I am feeling very unsure about the shoulder. I've not really found any good references of shoulders being constructed for models with such few triangles (390 without a head) but naturalistic proportions.
Can anyone knowledgeable in #3dmodeling enlighten me if this is workable or in need of a different approach?

Is there any special magic required to run a .bin file on Manjaro?
When I double click it I am asked which program I want to open it with. If I open the terminal, all guides say to just type the file name, but it always say "command not found".

Apaches are from 1975.
F-16s are from 1973.
The M16 rifle has been in service since 1962.

Attempts at replicating the paint jobs on ancient marble statues always looking pretty crap might be because the traces of pigments that can be recovered from the surface of authentic statues are only from the very first coat of paint.
Given that we have plenty of mosaics, and actual paintings on wood from Roman-period Egypt that have a lot of detail and shading, it seems almost certain that the final paint job on the statues would have been much more elaborate as well.

When I switched from Fedora to Manjaro, I was giving Amarok another try as my music player. It mostly works, but has a number of very minor, slightly inconvenient bugs, and seems to not have some simple features I appreciated in Clementine. Nothing individually significant, but very unsatisfactory in their volume.
I'm now trying Audacious, and this looks and feels very nice.
Very plain UI, but seems very customizable to show the things I want and remove those I don't.

True, but infections by microbes are always the microbe taking something from the infected body that it wants.
I think the odds are higher than not that an alien microbe entering a body would find nothing to eat and starve without being able to multiply.
But there's only so many ways you can make simple molecules out of the most common elements. So some alien biospheres sharing sugar as a basic energy storage molecule would be happening at random.

Alien microbes would have no adaptations to survive in the very hostile environment of the human body.
But humans are stuck in this solar system forever anyway, because interstellar distances are stupidly big, and there really are no incentives to travel for 50 years to stand on rocks that are just like the rocks we have at home.
