I am not saying it's an alternative to nip-32, but in addition to it. It's a way to move onto the social network without any web of trust. It's not perfect, bit its better than nothing and reduces the incentive to explode the network with infinite identities.
Another side effect of staking Bitcoin to an identity tied to your npub is that as long as there is Bitcoin on that address, you are proving to your network that you actually control your nsec and haven't leaked it.

I was proposing something like this for identity staking. A public Bitcoin address that anyone can confirm onchain that has a nonzero balance placing a "stake" on your npub showing there is nonzero value behind the identity. Even if its not used for "zapping" it could be used as a trust mechanism.

You transfer your Bitcoin into shared custody wallets where either party can spend, and if your initially funded advertised channels are closed with no liquidity, and all of the liquidity shift was from routing and not your personal spending, you've effectively swapped with someone else. Yes, you can transact in whatever blockchain you want, that is what is meant by a fork, both versions continue on. Whichever fork is the "real" Bitcoin is only the one whichever people value more. Therefore, the market can by psyoped into believing in the wrong blockchain, but the market does not tolerate fools for long unless there is an incentive to do so.
Let's say someone forks Bitcoin by modifying the code where blocks are half as big and block time is 20 minutes instead of 10, and they call it "Clown Bitcoin". If the market values the Clown Bitcoin blockchain over the original block rules, then hashpower will move to whichever version produces the most profitability. Whichever chain is most profitable will have the most "security" and at least for as long as the market values Clown Bitcoin over the original version, the "money" will move to that fork. But let's say the "old timers" stay ideal to the original rules despite the falling market trade-power compared to the "clown fork" and they call themselves "Satoshi maximalists", they will idealistically maintain hashpower on the original/old chain and continue to hodl those coins and possibly even sell off their "airdropped" clown tokens on the clown fork. How would this scenario end? Which fork is right? I don't know, because the market decides.
In regard to lightning, there is no need to "move" the nodes, because the underlying UTXOs exist on both chains. One could run two separate parallel lightning nodes on the two separate forks and it would continue to work.

It should be thought of as matters of degree of custody, degree of risk tolerance, separation of concerns and asymmetry of incentives.
The mint operator is incentivized to keep honest in order to continue receiving lightning revenues. One should not possess more than a few thousand sats in a cashu mint, or whatever amount you are tolerant to risk. You can offload your excessive balance into a self-custodial lightning wallet, such as Zeus. If you are a serious user, you can run your own mint - even one on your phone connected to your own lightning channels.
For onboarding users, using a centralized mint should be sufficient - because firstly, you aren't advocating any particular mint, and secondly, a new user shouldn't need to worry about self custody right out the gate because it's complicated, and thirdly, moving to true self-custody is part of the learning experience.
@nprofile…ae9u's notion of creating Bitcoin wallets from the same seed as the nostr nsec does not solve the self-custody problem because self custody is more than "going on-chain" it is primarily to understand how to keep your keys secure. A new user will not know how to do that right-out-the-gate, therefore expect a new user's nsec is probably also throw-away.
