The problem is not slop, most AI written analysis and texts of today's top models are quite honestly of higher quality than of the average human.
The problem is the fake authority it creates when humans publish AI written texts without disclosing that it was fully or partily AI written.
It’s like an athlete who is secretly using performance-enhancing drugs while competing against athletes who are not cheating, and then pretending it was all natural hard work.

This is a side project we've been working on: a PoC prototype for accurate weight measurements of car seat passengers.
This is a 98.55kg static load test where we achieve ±97% accuracy for measurements across relevant weight classes (46kg to 98kg).

I think it is a beautiful thing, because it bundles your personal posts and essays in one place, accessible for anyone, without having to deal with dealing with Nostr clients. SEO won't really work, but for now, that is not my priority. With AI, SEO will be dead anyways and shall Nostr succeed, AI will index and search the entire Nostr network anyways for relevant posts.
When I find some time and have leftover Codex budget, I'll open-source it and turn it into a self-serve SaaS where you provide your Npub and it creates the self-hosted files or hosts the minimal page for you.

The most valuable decisions happen beyond logic.
Beyond logic means: the spreadsheet is accurate, but incomplete.
This is what Tim Cook described in a conversation at Duke University in 2013.
It was Intuition that led him to work for Apple, not logic.
For him, at that time, Compaq was the superior, most rational choice.
But that choice was based on a rational, static model of the present; which is a snapshot of today plus the accumulation of historical data points.
The superior choice was what logic did not agree with: joining Apple.
This is what he felt as intuitive truth, he was knowing what will become possible.
AI is today the plus and minus list Tim Cook worked on. Data backed analysis and logic work when variables are known and the future will resemble the past.
This is the strength of AI.
The truly important and world changing decisions are not that. These decisions happen BEYOND LOGIC; usually in situations that are genuinely novel with a future that is nonlinear and unpredictable.
Tim Cook repeatedly tried to make the analytical pro and contra list work in his favor, to tell him what he already KNEW. But he could not.
The individuals who will OVERGO unquestionable data-backed logical recommendations of AI systems in favor of what seemingly makes no sense at that time, will win.

One in three top LinkedIn posts is now AI-generated. Which means two things: first, that sounding like an expert now proves nothing, and second, that your LinkedIn feed is now drowning in fake authority.
Pangram – the leading AI-detector – did an intersting analysis with unsurprising results:
1) 40 % of long LinkedIn articles flagged as fully AI-generated
2) LinkedIn is accountable for 62 % of all flagged AI content, even though it representet only 1/3 of scans.
What it already shows is that long writing is no longer scarce on LinkedIn, they became abundant – but what is missing for the reader is the evidence how real the mind / human behind an article actually is.
In other words: The risk is not the fake writing (which tools like Pangram can detect), but the fake authority behind it.
Zero marginal cost -> infinite polished posts -> synthetic authority inflation
For example, a high alpha strategic view on a specific subject previously required and thereby signaled competence. Now exactly these type of posts become increasingly meaningless — which discourages those with real competence to publish anything at all.
It is clear, that content as a category becomes meaningless and competence signalling will shift entirely to costly signalling: deals closed, decisions made, documented mistakes with consequences, forecasts that become timestamped in a blockchain before outcomes, etc.
What most on LinkedIn overlook: generic AI content without costly signalling will not only underperform, but because of detection tools (like Pangram) and with increasing audience skepticism (like myself), it becomes a negative reputational signal: this person wants authority without the cost of thought.
Some – myself or Paul Graham included – started blocking anyone commenting with AI slop below posts and articles.
Not only slop, but anything generic is becoming reputationally dangerous. Even senior executives, who built their career over decades, publishing interchangable insights will now signal less competence than an imperfect writer publishing a specific accountable observation.
Ergo? Treat LinkedIn engagement as a weaker evidence of expertise than ever before.
The important question for Nostr: How can we avoid becoming a protocol of AI generated slop?

Non dualism means everything is part of one, so everything including plants, minerals, animals is part of that one. If the one consists of consciousness, then anything within it is conscious. There are fascinating experiments that show even plants have a level of consciousness. So it matters how you treat and respect animals, plants, even stones (how ridiculous it might sound to you). And I really love your point about water, shouldn't then anything that contains water also be conscious?

Let me ask you one question: do you have children?
I'm not a disbeliever; I think retreats are one of the greatest things a human being can do, ideally on a regular basis. For the problems you described, it can work, but you would need to target one specific city or even a district within a city. You would have 20-30 people sign up and make them really bond in a retreat.
Then, when they come back to their neighborhood, everyone knows each other. They have bonded in a way you simply cannot do locally. I completely agree here, and I think this can be a great idea, actually.
Perhaps the biggest solution to all of this would be some kind of family retreat where you get one family together and they actually fix all the traumas they have suppressed for such a long time. Then, one family at a time, you can create a very beautiful world.

I like the idea of BCHNostr, BCH is the superior system for Nostr, simply because lightning is too complex and therefore a stupid trade-off. The vast majority will use custodians. I'd love to see similar projects like Zano Nostr etc. Make it open to more crypto projects that actually allow 100% private on-chain P2P transactions. Also: both can exist at the same time, clients like Primal should integrate native BCH support. Don't make Nostr part of a BTC religion.

I think there are already a lot, but they don't use crypto currencies yet because real cash (bank notes) still exist. Business for money under the table is huge everywhere and probably statistically extremely underreported. Germany, Italy, Spain, anywhere I look, it is common. Bitcoin doesn't solve this, but privacy coins like Zano, Dash, etc do. They will at one point be adopted and Bitcoin will loose

If AI is ultimately capable of doing everything we as humans are capable of doing, does this increase or decrease the meaning of the things we choose to do?
It increases the meaning, because we choose to do it despite AI and robots capable of doing the same thing for no cost. It increases it, because we will do whatever we will still be doing out of inner inspiration and deep purpose.
The fear that AI will create a meaning crisis would mean that AI can ‘take away our meaning’, but meaning is not the result of outer validation or economic value. Meaning arrives when we unite what our heart is longing for – our inner calling or ‘purpose’ – and start acting on it with clear intention. Meaning is when we do something for the sake of doing it, not for the sake of accomplishing it.
If technology allows us to accomplish without doing, it creates a vacuum. This vacuum is neutral. It is neither good nor bad, it simply exposes us. It reveals whether we were living an authentic life from inner purpose – or one that was shaped by external forces. How we will react to this vacuum is going to be everything. Either you numb this vacuum with endless stimulation. Or you move beyond it. Moving beyond the vacuum means starting to live. It means rediscovering action as a creative expression of love. We will start creating for the sake of inspiration, exploring for the sake of curiosity, caring for the sake of love. We will stop doing something because the world demands it, and we will start doing things because something in us demands it from us.
Technology that is capable of doing what we are capable of doing is not the threat, the threat is technology designed to replace living: technology that is designed to capture our attention at any time, to manipulate our reward systems, technology designed to fill any silent moment of our life. It is a nice but naive believe that attention is drawn to quality; because it is mostly drawn to whatever exploits human dopamine receptors fastest and easiest. I cannot say why, but AI writing seems to be good at that. Quality will only win for a tiny minority. And for me, writing for that extreme tiny minority is my only excitement.

Something that I have sensed a year ago, is slowly observable anywhere you look: ChatGPT averagism.
Leaders of large organizations share with me how their team are creating presentations using ChatGPT – and they are good, but average.
Average in the sense that presentations have no particular flaw, they are not bad in any assessable way – but average in a way that the uniqueness is gone.
It turns into a presentation that could be made by any organization and be valid for any organization, you just need to change the logo.
I work with multiple business partners, who send me emails, strategies, or vision statements that are clearly the output of ChatGPT. Again, not bad in any particular way – but ferociously average.
You can hardly describe what is missing, but when you read it you know that something is incomplete.
It goes on: emails, LinkedIn posts, website copy. Whether it is pitching a product or service, often it feels generic.
Recently published science papers, books, YouTube videos, all begin to feel lifeless.
Am I anti AI?
The complete opposite.
I still believe AI, including LLMs, are extremely powerful tools if used correctly.
But people skip the most important steps.
AI is omnipresent; for many the first app or tab they open when they should actually open an empty text file, a paper notebook, or scribble on a whiteboard in a meeting room.
Don’t skip the spiritual part of your work.

Magyar is not the anti-Orbán. He is Orbán without the corruption.
So Hungary just voted. I didn’t really care about this election, but tonight – when I saw Péter Magyar winning a landslide (projected two-thirds majority) – I got interested in what he stands for.
It seems Péter Magyar ran on Orbán’s forgeign policy minus the graft. Same stance on migration, same Ukraine caution, same 2035 Russia-energy timeline. So any previous Orbán voter who – this time – voted for Magyar got the same conviction on sovereignty and security but without a tolerance for theft.
Orbán didn’t lose the argument, but he lost the trust. Magyar now sells the identical argument, now supermajority backed.
What seemingly everyone in the EU (and mainstream media) overlooks is Tisza’s EP voting record and Péter Magyar’s explicit red lines (no migration pact, no fast-track Ukraine accession, no immediate Russia break. Hungarian voters clearly chose continuity, Brussels now got the rule-of-law photo-op (and cashflow). But Hungary will retain every veto that mattered in the past.
The “pro-European reset” seems marketing when in reality Orbán built the walls, and what Magyar is doing is firing the corrupt guards. Anyone in the EU who thought they got a full pivot will discover they got the same product, only cleaner.
Orbán did not lose Hungary on borders, migration, or sovereignty but he lost to a credible challenger – young and seemingly very charismatic – who offered the same societal red lines with cleaner hands, better state capacity, less oligarchic leakage.
Ergo, my read: same nationalism -> lower corruption tolerance -> coalition portability
This – ironically – matters beyond Hungary, because the right-populists now have a more dangerous competitor: a cleaner nationalist alternative with EU-acceptable state capacity.

Does it really matter? What you struggle with is the importance you place on what you "know". You can just accept it, place zero importance to it, live your own life, create what you want to see in this world. Neither battle the system nor fall asleep with it. It feels as if everyone became extremely stupid. It started with Covid 19? But I don't think everyone suddenky became stupid per se, but somehow social algorithms, pure propaganda mass media, and increasingly AI eradicated the ability for people to think critically for themselves (or think at all). That's why now everyone sounds like a parrot; without any real idea what they are saying. The more time you spent yourself consuming algorithmic media or asking censored AI for opinion, the higher risk you are at becoming an NPC retard.
