Every year, the training group I work in has a quarterly/year-end meeting which usually immediately precedes the company Holiday party
Our group does both and ugly sweater contest (I got second place‽) and a white elephant gift exchange
I think we set the price cap at $40 this year
Well... last year, I did not attend—the time frame also coincides with the b-day of a child *and* a grandchild, and we often celebrate with a camping trip—I was out of town
But prior to the scheduling of that particular event, I had acquired a gift for the white elephant (our administrator has started scheduling our quarterly meetings well in advance, now 😏)
So, I had my gift, ready to go, and packaged in a smaller, mundane generic-ass Christmas box from, I don't know, the seventies it looks like 😅

A white elephant gift exchange goes like this:
Participants each bring a wrapped, funny/unique gift (tasteful enough to place on one's desk at work) priced within a set budget
The group draws numbers, and takes turns picking or stealing opened gifts, with a gift "frozen" after a three steals
Stealing generally doesn't start until about a third of the way in, unless someone gets a really cool gift early
For some reason, there were a significant number of booze related gifts this year—a few decanter, a wine bottle opener, an alcohol smoking kit‽, etc
Only three Lego kits (one of the flower garden ones, a Star Wars ship... can't remember the third)
Things went well, there was fun to be had
I got a little tool drawer, which was stolen and so I picked up a set of glass lamps with fairy lights in them
Then, the last person dragged out the proceeding, shaking the lonely little inconspicuous box, teasingly looking at each opened gift that was still stealable...

I shaved my chest, today
The venus razor I bought last month works really well (though I did slip and nick a nipple, ow)
Maintenance shaving goes a lot quicker than doing so when the hair is long, but being in the right state of mind to do so every few days is a challenge
I can do both legs in about twenty minutes, or arms, or belly and chest in similar time frames; lately I am also shaving my armpits (with arms) and groin (with legs) as well
I wish I could do my back... apparently, there's a $75 thing I could use
I feel better when I'm fur-free
I wish I could afford whole body laser... I wish I could go on HRT

Apparently, Trudeau hasn't read any history books either... Canada and the USA have been friends for just a little over a hundred years
Before then, well... the whole British colony thing, the very real fear 'manifest destiny' meant consolidating the entire continent, etc
Don't get me wrong—I'm with Canada in this, and in fact, I would emigrate there in a heartbeat were it feasible right now
I just... don't like overexaggeration, which is a large chunk of how we got here in the first place

So, shower thoughts today was composing a text to my siblings, outing myself
Spouse doesn't think it's a big deal, but realistically, we haven't been a family for several decades and we get together maybe every five years or so
I don't have to do this now, or anything, but I am thinking sooner is better than later, and definitely better than when the next gathering, whenever that will be (currently, there's a wedding in March scheduled), happens
Also, drama via text is much easier to deal with than in-person 😅

Scheels, is freaking huge. It's got a whole corner dedicated to hunting, including everything camouflage, hunting bows, and firearms. There's a whole section dedicated to ice skates and hockey, which only makes sense (I discovered there's such a thing as a skate blade sharpener!), and damned if they didn't have the shirt I was looking for
... except, not in my size
But anyway, all this to say that I, the closeted, not yet transitioning at all weirdo I am; a person who isn't blatantly femme and is certainly not a princess in waiting, saw a pink sweatshirt that I really liked and wanted to wear
And I'm freaking out just a little bit? I've never been a fan of pink (and I find Barbie pink to be a crime against nature), and so I'm not understanding why that particular item is so appealing
I can't even blame the hormones I'm not taking! 😅
I think I was even smiling at the thought of wearing it
Should I go back tomorrow and buy it? 😱

I actually hit a lot of shops in the area: Walmart, Target, Ross, Kohls... and ended up at the mall
This is the zombie mall—built with four anchor stores, it is down to two: JC Penny and a place called Scheels, which is like the embodiment of the Sears and Roebuck Catalog from the nineteenth century, LOL
Inside the mall itself, only one indoor restaurant is left, and maybe fifteen shops, total. Two of them are gyms. One shoe, store: Zumies, and it was closed today
Anyway, I went through Penny's and they didn't have the shirt, Spencer's is a caricature of itself, selling commercial halloween stuff in front, and sex toys in the back, and Hot Topic is the new Spencer's, as far as clothing goes
I end up in Scheels
